Wanted: Cheap MP3 Player

My Sony 2gb got stolen from my car, again, so now I want something cheap.

Ideally, I'd like something that's quick to use through the menus and through the playlist and I know Sony are often the best for this.

The only essential thing is that it's either drag and drop, or is via very simple software (not itunes or sonicstage, etc).

About 512mb/1gb is fine as I don't want to spend an awful lot. Looks aren't really important.

Please let me know what you have but am looking for cheap!

Thanks,

AV

I was given one of these for xmas last year & love it (2gb version) really easy to use - I'm a bit of a technophobe & managed to put everything on it myself

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-3922.aspx

It also has an fm radio which I particularly wanted

Any good for you?

Good luck!

PS a mate of mine picked up a great one from Aldi (similar price but a whopping 4gb) which looks wise was pretty darn chic & was obviously based on an ipod aesthetic - you could even play your mp3 tunes via any radio - I want one, but prob with Aldi is you never know when they are likely to be in stock.....

Thought it was worth mentioning in case you had a store near by, could be worth a look.

Thanks PuppyGirl but way past my budget, I've had two stolen now so just want something cheap!

I've got a pretty much brand new (used for a few hours only and then sat in my drawer for 3 months) Sony NWD-B105 in white. It's Drag and Drop and the memory capacity is 2GB (you can view the 1GB version here). I think I even should have the original, brand new earphones, but I'd need to find them...

I'm interested in this if AV isn't mate. Obviously depending on price anyway.

kemot, I've had two stolen now. That one you have is the first one I had stolen! play.com had it for £17.99, I presume that's when you bought it?

I am interested, how much?

Also, does anyone have a, you know, crapper one?! Steven, that one looks brilliant and is a great buy, but too good for me!

Thanks,

AV

How much shane and can I see a picture and what sort of battery does it take? Rechargeable?

If it's decent, maybe we can do combined postage with the PS2 pad?

How about £25?
#13
£25 is too much I'm afraid mate.

Shane, does that have a 2.5mm port or a standard 3.5mm headphone port? Hopefully it's 3.5mm!

Seems good to me, does the job that I want, how much you looking for it?

its a standard 3.5mm headphone socket. umm £2? it has no earphones, no battery, and no sd card though :)

I don't need earphones, battery nor SD card, lol.

Considering how it's fairly battered and nothing with (can I presume it works fully?) how about you combine the postage with the PS2 pad and I give you another £1?

Do send it ASAP though as the pad isn't as urgent but I'm currently music-less in my car!!

How much zaheer?

And thanks shane,

it is the same as this item on ebay 220285770961

4.50 by BT?

I'll give it a miss, the one from Shane is much better. If yours was 512mb, I'd probably say yes.
#26
no probs
#27
Bump again because even though I've received this successfully from Shane, I wouldn't mind buying another one, slightly better too, for longer journeys and in case this one get stolen too!

So if anyone has anything slightly better, please let me know, happy to spend a bit more on this one!
#28
Or even a good condition ipod!!
#29
mine is still available
#30
Yours is much too expensive kermot considering I myself had bought a 2gb one for £17.99. I presume you bought it from the same, used it, and are now looking for a profit!
#31
I've got a 20GB Creative Zen Touch that you can have for £50 delivered? I'll just find the link for it.........
#33
on eBay now so can't buy, lol, and is it a video player too or just mp3? I only have about 1gb of songs!

I can do £20 delivered. It's irrelevant for how much I bought it, unless it is still available at this price now (is it?). Compared to the current price of this unit (or other, similar ones), the price I offer is good value today - unless you can go back in time and buy one then, of course.
#35
Indeed kermot, but it doesn't mean I should consider yours a good price!

Nope haven't yet put it on eBay, haven't had the time.

Just an mp3 player as far as I'm aware but is a great little unit for what I'm selling it for! Plus you have the extra memory should you want to put additional music on it
#37
Won't even use 20gb of music I'm afraid, that space is only useful if I was to be able to put videos onto it.

Thanks though!
#38
No problem, hope you find something soon! :)
#39
Thanks!

Still looking for one. This Aiwa drinks AAA batteries so would prefer a slightly better, rechargeable one!

Thanks.
