Wanted : Core 2 Duo / Quad Processor

I've decided to make the change from AMD to Intel (mainly because I managed to get a 680i board for £57 yesterday!). Hence I'm after a Core 2 Duo / Core 2 Quad processor to get the thing up and running. I'm preferably after something like a q6600 (g0 SLACR only), e6850 or e6750.

Ideally I would like something which comes with warranty (i.e. has proof of purchase).

Let me know what you've got...

You're looking at around £150 with a stock cooler.

Having built a Custom Quad Core PC for £450, I've just ordered a Inspiron 530 from Dell for £550 including Vista Prem, 500gb Sata II HD & 22" Widescreen - Delivered!

Unbeatable!

Q6600 is £150 at Aria although out of stock. I don't need the cooler as I will be buying a 3rd party one.

I was hoping to pay a little less by going 2nd hand though...

the cpu's you're after are still pretty new and considered "top of the range" for many so i doubt many people will have a second hand 1 to sell. try fleabay.

I kinda expected that. Just thought I'd post here on the off chance as I've seen a few go for £100-120 on another forum.

you've got a 680i board, just clock a lesser cpu, E6600 are avalible for around £60. Having said that Q6600 can be had for £80-100.

I'd rather go for the quad to be a bit more 'future-proof' if there is such a thing. Also I run Crysis which is supposed to take advantage of the extra cores is it not? Where have you seen quads for £80-100?

@@ where can you get a E6600 for 60 quid? I would be very interested in that ^^

OK I've managed to find a Q6600 from elsewhere, just wondering if there is anyone else selling one before I go ahead?

Cheers.
