is anyone a midwife where they could get me a couple of these please? they are the only teat my son will use, the hospital gave me 10 when he was discharged from hospital. He is 6months old now, and they really need replacing and can't seem to find them anywhere on the net :(

but £5.00 in the box as it is required but name your price if someone can get me some.

my son had special needs and the hospital let me buy a box from them. they might let you if you ask the health visitor.

ooohh good thinking batman, will ask the HV on monday when i get him weighed.

thankyou!
#3
didnt think you could use them teats more than once?
#4
nor me, but when he was moved from the mat ward to the childrens ward (was having trouble feeding so was in for 2weeks) they put the teats in the sterliser like normal teats, there was a sterliser in each room, that got changed daily. so we continued to do that at home.
#5
i breast feed mine but if my memory serves me right dont they look a little bit like willys?
#6
it isnt cost effective for the hospital to sterilize them so they throw away.
yet you can sterilise at hom ewithout any problems.
#7
so do they fit on ordinary bottles or do u have to have the glass ones?

lmao, sorry edjaned my post was to the op, although your response has made me laugh:-D

if you use the ring it comes on, it will only fit on the glass ones, but we take the teats out and stick them on a narrow bottle, sainsbury's basics fit them perfect. yep those are the ones the orange willys, lol

its the only teat he'll use :@ we got tons of other ones but he wont use them, 6months old, and a typical male already, lol

we used boots bottles.
slim fitted ones
then haberman feeder ones.
he mght do ok with the relly cheap yellow teats as they are much softer than the new ones. worth a try.

just wondering with you saying your baby had trouble feeding was he slow to gain weight?my baby 5 months now and weighs 11lb was 6.13 at birth
#16
he was 6lbs 6oz at birth and was 5weeks early, but he would only take 30mls every 4hours, and according to the "hospitals book" he shouldve been having 74ml every 4hours. so they tubed him and pumped the remainder into him, even though he was throwing it all back up. he would only start to drink his full feed when one of the nurses tried him on one of the C&G teats as its longer, and worked a treat. then he decided he didnt want to start wening and fell onto 2nd centile, but since his big(ish, shes only 15months) sister shoved a rusk in his mouth, theres no filling him up, lol.

have tried the yellow teats, dont work, they have to be long as he puts all the teat in his mouth, there isnt enough teat with the others, such a fussy lad

one of mine had to have the tube thing aswell but he kept pulling it out!i know my son is under all the lines now so he has to go for blood and sweat tests on tues, what a good weight 5 weeks early!
#18
both of my children are tube fed the are 6 and three. theyhave been since birth so i understand the frustrations of feeding,
have you tried a habermen feeder the have a long teat. we found these wonderful when my dughter didnt have a suck reflex. i shall find you a pic
#20
expensive hun but well worth it. the hospital can give you one to try. the speech and language therapist gave us one.
#21
we also had sweat tests for cf but all clear.
#22
ive got one left from the hospital when i had my baby 4 months ago if you want it
#23
thanks all, have now ordered a box of 100 from C&G for £22, so now i have more than enough teats, lol.

yep the hospital tried one of those haberman thingys and he refused them, will only use the C&G ones. MEN!

I too used these teats ( for my eldest daughter who has Down's syndrome ) and we phoned up cow and gate and they even sent some samples out to us first before we ordered a box ( you can get various disposable teats )

I see they are now doing them on ebay so if you need to sell them on after you know where to go lol
