To elaborate on the description a little, I'm after a 3.5" SATA drive, minimum of 120/160GB

and then DDR 400 RAM. Not limiting the size, got 4 slots available and would want minimum of 1GB.

Willing to pay around £25 each for RAM and HDD. Let's see what you got!

Got a HDD now, just after RAM

Have a 160gb drive, looking for £22 del

Are IDE drives any good?
#4
thanks for the replies :)

bobdylan - sorry, I can get a 160GB for £20 delivered from fleabay, want to see if cheaper here first but that's my fall back option. Will consider if you'll lower the price though

AV1985 - sorry, SATA only, IDE sockets are all taken with CD drives

Jonsend - thanks for the heads up, the guy i'm repairing it for wants it done for cheap as possible so the smaller (aka cheaper) the better while still maintaining the spec he had before it died.

You are allowed to give item numbers but you're not actually allowed to directly compare prices so in fact forget that idea...

Better off buying from there if it's cheaper m8 :)

Drive is fine and working aok. Date is 11 March 2005. Model No. WD2000JD. Drive is all black, whether or not a few years ago there was a difference in the colours of the WD drives like now (black=top end, blue=middle road, green=eco slow) i dont know, but this one formats fine and runs through scandisk with no errors.

Not really, there are 4 slots and one already has a 512 in it so I'm looking to boost it to 1.5gb rather than just have 1gb in it.

Thanks tho :)
#22
