Wanted Digital Slr camera setup £200.00

Looking for some kind of digital Slr setup, so would need at very least camera body and one lens, preferably boxed and in great condition, there are way too many models to pick from, so to try and stop bumping, my budget is pretty much set at £200, I personaly dont know much about them, but it will be used for college work, so really does need to be a known brand. I will try and find min specs needed mp wise.
Please let me know if you have anything you think may fit
many thanks

I have this that I had up for sale a couple of weeks back but then had a change of heart but I now have a fast prime for my olympus so this can go back up for sale..

could probably get it down to around £250 if you can stretch that far.?

Hi Jough, looks like a lovely piece of kit, i really can't go much more than £220, it's for a xmas pressy ya see, and have four kids, so what i spend on 1 has to be replicated over the other 3, so that xtra £50, wud end up setting me back xtra £200 :(

yeah I know what that is like :| ya gotta love em tho'

no worries, looking around the usual places I have got to stick to my low end estimates, £180 for the camera (very low estimate) & £60 for the lens and then the P&P, I would really struggle to go lower, you could always buy the body and then pick up a cheap Canon kit lens..

cameras that you should be able to get in your budget with lens, Nikon D50(6mp) & Canon 350d(8mp), both great camera and dont get hooked up on mp's you would get a decent size print from a D50, look out for shutter count the lower the better and try to check out if it has any sensor dust, the older cameras do not have sensor shake cleaning built in so dust can be a problem especially if its well used..

DPreview can be a good place to find specs and test on cameras, for eg the Canon 1000d.

if you find anything you think suitable and want some advice give me a shout and ill try to help out best I can.

happy hunting
