Toshiba SD-185E from Tesco for £24.97. Instore and online. Plays virtually everything.

The best ones to get I think are the ones that have SD card slots and USB ports , so you can do away with the burning altogether and just rip your DVD's and then convert to Divx's and loadonto cards . I'm in the process of doing this with my collection .Maplin have 2 models in stock , one for £39.99 and the other £49.99 ,one has USB but both play Divx's. Lidl's also have an all in model for £39.99.

Thats the one I have. Sammy blu ray is region coded, as is the PS3. Got this for my imports and its great.
Get a multi-region hack for this from the net and its top notch.

Looks cool too.

But if you only want something to play DivX files, invest in a media player, throw in a 1tb hard drive and you're set for life.

converter x converts all divx and xvids into dvd format easily

Yeah I've had a couple for years now ..................the 2 silver ones , plays owt you like and plugs into anything too. Was going to buy a home player but the media players are more portable.

It does, it plays Xvid and DivX. I'm sat watching Rome Season 2 which has been encoded Xvid and is an .avi file. Most of my downloaded back-ups will play on this machine.
