Hi op,
I am sorry for stealing your thread, but I am looking for a DVD Writer as well.
NEVER used one & have no idea how to connect to a PC & what features to look for?
All I am interested at the minute is to back up my data onto a DVD-RW.
And £15.99 seems a good price as compared to the 13.99 I was about to spend on the 8 GB USB Stick (I know that it is small etc, but I am confused now)
Any help please..

Weigh it on your kitchen scales & visit the RM website, where you can get an estimate with their Price Finder. The 'packet' probably won't weigh more than 800gm, so I'd say £3.10 & £2.50 max for 1st & 2nd class postage respectively.

With all due respect, that's a bit of a fib right? I'll never buy a PC component (or anything else for that matter) & go as far as screwing it into my system without at least trying it out to see that it works OK.

i bought it as a spare and as i broke one of the fronts on my system i put it in to fill the gap, dont call people liers(screw ya with all respect),if it was used i would say its used,

i have 2 drives like i originally said so why use the extra pc power to have a 2nd drive i dont need,i bought them when they ws on a day special for £16 each, when they should have been £21,better being in my pc safe than in a cupboard or draw.

i have about 6 hardrives in my pc and i onyl have 400w and according to a site that gives u estimates i only have about 20watt left so didnt want to risk a blow out,

i dont have any scales either.
