Anyone have one of these they dont need and are willing to give away, i am willing to pay postage to cover costs. I bought a DVI to HDMI cable off ebay yesterday, and then bought the viewsonic monitor only to find out it doesn't have DVI input.

or now also looking for a vga to hdmi cable aswell

i want to connect my gfx card up to a monitor that only has a VGA cable, will i still need to buy that then in order for it to work?. I thought i could just get a VGA to HDMI cable

a dvi out/in has digial and analog pins depending on the equipment so you could go from vga to dvi using a adapter as it would still be a analog signal using the analog pins
as hdmi is pure digital you cant change a analog signal to a digital one
hope that makes sence

if your pc has dvi out can use this and vga cablehttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/411VFP0HAZL._SL500_AA280_.jpg

well im using a 4850, surely the HDMI output from that card will be better than the DVI, which is truthfully the only reason i bought the monitor yesterday, the Viewsonic full HD one on offer, the only problem is that monitor only has a VGA input.

Im guessing that to get best quality i would need the analog - digital converter to get the full HD quality. If thats the case it doesn't seem worth it
