Hi,

As I'm doing a lot of overtime in work I fancy trying my hand at repairing a Macbook. I have already watched all the films I want to watch and am scared I'm going to resort to learning a new language!
Please reply with a photo/photo's and a price.

Thanks for looking

Hmmm, £500 for a Faulty MacBook? If you could provide more info, it would help.

Not exactly what I'm looking for TBH, Installing a new HDD isn't a major task so won't really occupy me for too long whilst I'm, let's say, Working.

Very clever! :)

Thanks but no thanks, it's worth no where near what you're asking. Thanks anyway.
#8
Then come back with an offer??
banned#9
What exactly is wrong with the keyboard? Missing keys?
#10
1 missing key and pressing some letter will brig up the letter next to it, im guesing it would need a new keyboard all together.
banned#11
Ok, Based on some comparisons on various websites (links provided if you want) my offer is going to be £150 to start, If you feel this is too low please feel free to counter. :)
Thanks for getting back to me.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/for-sale-trade/apple-macbook-unibody-13/939512?page=1 Fully working newer one than yours just sold for £330 on here so think you might be way overestimating it at £500. I know the spec are a bit lower but it's aluminium and actually working.
#14
This laptop is fully working just needs a new keyboard,

Better Hard Drive and processor, £500 was just a price to go off ive never sold a macbook before.

Also i can chuck in the case in the picture plus a wireless mouse if the price is right.
#15
good idea man, I just did this, your best looking on ebay though.. I found a cheap macbook for £199 (haggled the guy down from £320).

And it had a display fault... which i fixed with a £6 LVDS cable. First macbook repair I have ever done and it worked out great.

I'm not sure about collection from Carlsile, it's a hell of a Journey and will probably cost me £60-£70 in fuel.
Have a look at the completed listings on eBay and refine by specs.
a new keyboard would cost in the region of £60 too so that's what I was basing my price from.
#17
I dunno how much it would cost to post ive never sent an item like this before.

You would need to factory install the OS as i lost the disc.

Not having on O/S isn't a problem, I'm not sure how much it would be for postage either. I think the best be would be either parcel monkey or P2G, I'd imagine it wouldn't be more than £10.
#19
Would want more than £150.

If you know how to fit a new case and a keyboard this is brand new basicly.
banned#20
It's £100'ish for new housing (£50 for top, £50 for bottom)
Then £60'ish for a new keyboard
Then £30? For the O/S?
So £210 for parts etc, then you want more than £150?

Thanks a lot though.

This went for £76 to give you an idea item No:180665358418

My son has a broken one, screen needs replacing and the sound doesn't work unless plugged into an amp or with headphones .

We're looking out for a new one at the moment, can't see him wanting to part with it until he's got sorted.

We're in South Mcr/Cheshire so might be handy if you don't get something else in the meantime.....will ask him to have a look at prices when he gets in.

E2A: Also broken dvd drive and only works when plugged into mains.

Well you should have bidded on the one on ebay.
#25
The one you linked on eBay has no HDD for a start, Mine is upgraded to 300GB
Also it isnt working at all, Mine is fully working bar the keyboard.

Lid £23 here

Bottom £35

Keyboard £50

£108 there compared to your £210

= Brand new Macbook with upgraded memory, Also the leapord disc is easily picked up for free.

The prices I looked at were rough prices. I was after all looking on my iPhone. A 300gb Hard drive doesn't cost much, if you want to keep the HDD and sell it without, I wouldn't mind. I would be taking a risk as the keyboard fault could be a problem with the logic board as it is quite common, So could spend all that money in vein.

I don't see how that's helpful at all. If I wanted to hear/read an uneducated person drone on with the incorrect use of our language I'd watch Katie Price, Thanks anyway though :)

Hi, I'm going to leave ot thanks. I think you're overvaluing your MacBook and don't think we could agree on a price. Thanks anyway.

Thanks
