One of my daughter's friends has troden on her GHDs and she is gutted.
I'm looking to replace them with the same / similar model or, failing that, a broken pair of GHDSS so I can try and make one good pair out of two bad.
Please let me know what you have and how much you want.

See picture for what I currently have.

I'm male and no theres no contest when it comes to hair straighteners. its like hoovers ghds will take the name of straighteners

QVC are doing adverts at the mo that they are going to start selling them.

It's worth taking a look, 30 day money back guarantee (even if used). Usually sell cheaper than anywhere else.

I second not buying anything other than ghd's x

She has some other straighteners but wants her GHDs.

cant you claim on house insurance or something or ring ghd and say they fell apart.

depending how old they are, contact ghd, members on here have been sent a new pair when theirs have been out of warranty
#10
They are well past any warranty.
Looks like GHD do some spares but this is not listed on their site.
They only seem to have a few bits listed so will be ringing them tomorrow to see if I can get the part I need.
I'm still interested in buying from here though in the meantime.

its worth the phone call, they pick them up and will call you to tell you if you have to pay for a repair, more often than not if there old they offer you a pair at a reduction

Thanks Louise, ( That's my daughter's name )

I will call GHD tomorrow and see what I can find out from them.
May well be contacting you after that if I get no joy.
In fact I will let you know either way so you know for sure one way or the other.
Thank you for posting.

Sassie, I hear what you're saying aswell and will also check out that route when I call them.
Thank you also.

Babi Boo, Sorry but that is too much for me.
Thanks anyway.

If ghdss means the salon styler(?) then you could go to boots. They are £116 but they have 1000 extra points when you spend £70 (automatic) and then add a 1500 points when you spend over £100 voucher (I'm sure there is one on the vouchers thead) which means you will get £29.64 worth of points on your advantage card to spend at boots once you add on the 4 points per pound aswell.

Edit: The normal sized ones are £95 something you prefer them instead.

Yep they are the Salon Styler ones.
I think she wants hers replaced, like for like, or repaired.
She has gotten used to the wide plates that these ones have.
She is going to have to learn that a replacement is out of the question at that price.
If I can repair them, then all well and good, but it will have to be for about £20.00 or so.
If not, then she will have to get used to thinner plates and learn not to leave her stuff lying around on the floor.
May sound a bit harsh but she should be thankfull I can't find my bull whip. :whistling:

Babi Boo, it would be an insult to you if I said a price so I think I will see what tomorrow brings.
Once again, thanks.

Could you go to Toni and Guy (who use ghds) and ask them what they think - they will know more about this kind of thing and whether they are salvagable.

Can any of the morning people help here at all?

Hi Louise,
I don't believe it.
I have spent ALL day trying to find spare parts and checking out secondhand and damaged wide GHDs like the ones that are broken, and she now tells me her friends one is the normal size and she has used it and prefers it.

If your offer is still open, then I will gladly accept.
