Hi
I have a 4 month old boy who has decided to not sleep in his crib at night and wants us!!
Obviously we dont want him in our bed so I need to know has anyone got a copy of this book lying around they no longer need? Does it cover sleeping?

Any tips would also be a bonus!! lol....

Hi I got mine ioff ebay for £2.74 buy it now, its used but in very good condition. There were others at this price also, I had asked on here but most people were looking £5 upwards. So that mine be your best bet.
I only got my book a few days ago and haven't read it fully but there is all details of routines which in turn help the baby sleep at night, looks like a good book. x

not got the book-and this sounds daft - but the health visitor told me to put a t shirt or something i had worn in the cot over the sheet - that way the baby smells you - and it helps them to settle as they think you are near - worth a go ?

We did that when he was really small and it helped, he was fine for ages when he went from moses basket to crib but the last week or so he just wants to be in our bed...maybe I will try that again...thanks for reminding me of that trick

Does he sleep in his own room? We found moving our LO to her own room the best move as she wasn't disturbed by us (hubby snoring in particular!) We initially left the doors open between the rooms and used a monitor, then moved onto shut doors to stop other household noises disturbing her (teenagers!!)
And sticking to a set routine ensures babies feel secure and settled, try to do the same things in the same order each night so they become familiar and comforting to him.
I know some books tell you to allow them to cry for a little while if you know they are warm, fed and dry etc. (easier said than done!) but it does get easier ~ my LO is 2 and now pleads to go to bed at 6.30 every night!!
Good luck and I'm sure he'll settle soon xx

I have The Complete Sleep guide for Contented Babies by Gina Ford. It was a freebie with Prima Baby magazine a few months back. You can have it if you want, maybe 50p to cover postage?
