Is this worth much? It's a half sovereign on a ring.

remember scrap gold at the moment is worth a fortune, so just on pure weight you will get approx £6.50-7.00 per gram so weigh it and take that as a minimum...

So by the looks of it i'd say thats more then 10grams and thus more then £70 worth!

I'm going to take it to work tomorrow to weigh it. If scrap price is approx £7/gram and it weighs say 10 grams £65 isn't too far away.

Cheers

#16
Yer im intrested nice looking ring and will keep my offer as it stands

Its some form of soverign lol thats all i know im just collecting coins right now
#17
Hmmmm a coin collector who can't spell sovereign. :w00t:

Anyone can see it's a 1989 Isle Of Man coin.
1989 was the 500th anniversary of the sovereign so this could increase its value. ( Don't know if that applies to half sovereigns though. )
If you want to sell this. I would check out a coin shop if there is one near you.
A jeweler's might also help you.
Or even try Google.

You could also try e-mailing some online shops / dealers with the details.
#18
Im not a coin collector hardly i have one other coin lmao im starting a collection lol
#19
i got a 100 gold coins yesterday in Mario and got an extra life, but that doesnt really interest me to be honest, how much are these worth to you?

The price of gold has shot up recently and people, probably like the op, have recently decided to buy physical gold in a hope that the price will keep rising. I can't really see it happening as it's already at a high, but it's risen something like 20% in the last year or so.

When I went to Dubai for my honeymoon I purchased 2 x 50g gold pieces for about £400 each, now worth over £2000! I recon gold is still a good investment

Gold is considered as a good investment right now due to the impending crash of sterling. It's a bit like those who invested in Yen last year, which price has since doubled. But due to gold's already high price, I'm really not sure if it can keep going up.

Indeed it looks so. So it maybe a fake or a one off and probably worth a fortune. Like workers did with other coins and stamps
