you wil be lucky to find a good pci gfx card cheap
would be cheaper to replace your motherboard

some on ebuyer
ive seen lods get sold on here for my budget and my motherboard is fine just need a graphics card to play bf2.
The ones sold here would be pci-e its a new gfx slot not the same as pci slot
if you wana play BF2 i'd soner grab a xbox for £35 at cex rather than mess with a pci gfx card in a old pc. just my opinion anyway. game plays just fine on a pad
if its pcie, give me a shout i got a selection!
nah he wants pci. "same as modem/sound etc"
Biggest PCI card you can get will be around 128MB with a newer chipset, the 256MB versions are AGP or above only.
ok ppl thanks for info. i dont know much about gfx cards and that. i said pci because i dont have a agp slot. can anyone tell me how to find out if i have a pcie slot as my motherboard is quiet new i recently built this computer and its a gigabyte motherboard.
should be next to the slot, in small print. if you tell me the motherboard model, i could find out
googled it and found what it looks like but would the slot be pci-e 1x or 16x?
checked my motherboard it seems to only have pci slots and not pci-e. so unless the prices are not too high i might just leave it.
Do you know what model the motherboard is? Or what PC it's come out of
i built the pc and its gigabyte not sure what the model it is will find out later on.
pci graphics are hard to come by and not that good performers at all. trust me, grab a £35 xbox for games, it won't let you down or hurt your eyes :D
If the motherboard is 'quite new' and it doesn't have an AGP slot, surely it must have PCI-E?

If not then you've made a monumental cock up when building the computer. Stick your model number up (check box/email receipts etc) so people can help.
thanks for everyones help but i dont think im that despertae to go buy a xbox then play it on there. i already have a pc with a graphix card but thought i should get one for my other pc.
thanks anyway.
ebuyer had radeon 92xx/95xx cards for about £25-£35 recently, thats prob about the best you'll find on pci
is that the 9200 and 9500 series if so that is perfect. r they still available?
what do u think about this one? http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/113152

the 9250 just got sold.

 nowt wrong with that one. i was gonna get that for my p3 box but i had to make do with this one instead - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/119218/product_info/rb/0 - due to psu requirements! its a loprofile case with just 145W !
oh thanks for that but its only 64mb. bf2 requires at least 128mb and for high resolution its 256mb. i think i am just going to get a 256mb one from ebay. but thanks for ur help.
yeah i know a 64mb card won't play BF2. nor will a pentium 3! this pc isn't for games. good luck with finding one on ebay anyway :)
thanks rob
Unless you have bought a 6 year old motherboard, it's highly unlikely that you need a PCI graphics card.

AGP has been around for ages now, and PCI-express (PCI-E) for a couple of years.

You really need to find the model number of your motherboard.
yea i will check it out tomorow. there probably is a pci-e slot somwhere behind those cables.
yeah more than likely
