Wanted: Heavy Rain special edition-receipt/order confirmation

Hi

I know this is a long shot but i'm hoping someone can help me. I bought a copy of heavy rain-special edition off avforums and then played it and sold it on, on HUKD. Sent it recorded delivery, but it never made its destination.
I went through royal mails claims process and although they accept they've lost it, they will not compensate me as i cannot provide proof of value. I obviously don't have the original receipt, and cannot direct them to a website with the value as its no longer available....so here's my request if you can help,
Does anyone have a copy of the receipt or order confirmation at all, that you could scan and mail me. I know its a long shot, but i've got to ask as I'm just sick of Royal mail "losing" my post, this is the 2nd thing (notebook last time) that they've "lost".
I'm happy to pay postage or for ink costs if needed.
Thanks

You only sent it recorded delivery so you can't claim the full retail value anyway can you?

EDIT : You can claim upto £41

Really? I'll do that then. They told me i had to have a receipt or statement, but i'll give that a go.

Flodd, i beleive you can claim the value you paid for it. So i should be able to print off the thread from the forum i bought it from right?

I made reference to the original product page at HMV's web site in a couple of HotUKDeals threads but not copies of the web content; just transposed text that I lifted from the HMV site on 6 January 2010. I can find those again for you if you wish.

If I had bought the product by mail order I would have saved a copy at the time (£39.99; then up to £42.99; then £44.99 before it was released), but as I bought in-store I didn't. I wasn't planning to buy it at all, but another HotUKDeals member was looking for one & I found three Special Edition variants in-store on the day of release.

I may have my original receipt still [in fact, I know I will have it, but it isn't immediately to hand], but I returned the item I bought (still sealed) so I suspect the in-store counter representative probably wrote on the receipt to indicate a refund was issued.

PS. VG247.com made reference to the £40 (well, £39.99) price tag on 6 January 2010 too:

All this aside, how much did you pay for it?

You cannot expect the Royal Mail to compensate you at a new retail price if you did not pay that for your item.

Providing forum posts/"PM" text may be the only way to demonstrate your actual loss, but as mentioned above, the compensation will only be "100 times the value of a first class stamp" if the item was sent by Recorded (Signed For) Delivery.

BFN,

fp.
