Wanted: iPhone 3G (have trades) lens no longer required, other phones considered

I am looking for a telescopic lens for my Nikon D3000 or an iPhone (must be a 3G or better as I intend to use it on 3 network). I am looking for one of the other.

I have the following trades (prices are for rules only, but may sell if asked)

PSP Go! in black, like new all boxed (£150)
iPod Touch 2Gen 8GB (back scratched but screen is good) (£80)
Nokia E63 (locked to 3 in good condition and boxed) (£70)

I can add a little bit of cash on top too.

Let me know what you've got and we can strike a deal from there.

No longer need a lens! Just a 3G iPhone (preferably a 16GB)

If its Nikon AF fit then I guess it would, but i'm new to this game so unsure.

I am interested, are you interested in a trade?

Do you have anything else? I def don't need a phone or MP3 player. Would normally consider the PSP GO but only on a trade.

I'm happy to trade the PSP, but I couldn't straight swap it for something you wanted £85 for.

Yes, realise that. That's what I meant - I would possibly trade a similar value item for it but don't want it enough to pay for it. So no other trades available then? You could be surprised at the kind of things I'm after - a paper cutter for example!

I've got some N64 stuff, a couple of PS3 games. Can't think of anything else right now.....

EDIT: A few PS1 games too.

EDIT 2: Or do you have some more Nikon stuff to throw on top?

Don't have a PS3 - only other thing I can think of is if you are interested in another lens. I have a Nikon manual focus prime - E Series 100mm constant at f/2.8. An absolute cracker of a lens - pin sharp - if you don't mind losing AF.

I am interested got any pictures of it? I am a newbie to DSLR, so would I find it too difficult with just MF?

Yes, will get some up for you.

Tbh, I've never found it difficult to MF, and have very rarely produced a shot that's out of focus. To be fair though, having a manual lens forces you to concentrate. You obviously can't just point and shoot.

Many photographers, myself included, will switch the AF off on AF lenses for certain shots. Obviously you don't have the luxury of choice with a straight MF lens, but it will force you to learn more quickly, simply because you've got to think about each shot a bit more.

The only case where I'd not advise someone to use a MF lens is if they have bad eyesight. Goes without saying I suppose, but if you can't recognise when the subject is in focus through the view-finder, then MF might as well be called RF (random focus)!

Sounds good, I have good eyesight so shouldn't be a problem, might even push the boundaries of shooting early in my journey into photography. How much were you looking for the second lens?

Let's both have a think about this. Tbh, I hadn't thought about getting rid of it until now. Also, I'd want you to be sure it's the right lens for you before considering it. Maybe take a look at the reviews for it and see what you think.. It is worth reading up on, even if you decide the disadvantage of losing AF isn't worth the increase in glass quality - which is basically the compromise you'd be making. I'm going to have a bath now anyway, so will be away for 30mins or so

summary of my long missing post:
taking bath, back soon. / Pls read reviews for the prime and see if it's for you :)

Definitely interested, some very good reviews about it. Depends what sort of deal you want? I've just been making sure it's the right fit, Nikon compatability table is a little hazy.

My post has vanished now....... Basically I said I'd like it, what sort of deal are you looking for and are you sure they will fit my D3000?
#17
Yes, they will both definitely fit, but having looked around I'm not sure the PSP Go! is for us actually. A regular PSP with custom firmware is less than half the price and would suit us better (and I've still got an 8GB Pro duo sitting here from when we sold the PSP). But I'll sleep on it and let you know for sure tomorrow. Just hope this post doesn't disappear like all the others!
#18
Ok, had a think and sure we don't want the PSP. If we had a PS3 we'd probably go for it, but can't really justify it.

But since the Sigma lens is better being used than sitting here doing nothing, I might go for the iPod touch after all.

Based on our listing prices, which both seem fair, I'd like £5 my way or £15 my way if you want the Hoya PL-CIR filter (it's worth £20 2nd hand easily). Is it boxed and in good condition apart from the scratch. No probs with screen for example? How old is it and how long does the battery hold its charge (is the battery replaceable? Sorry I know nothing about Apple products as I've never owned one, but is this one jailbroken or whatever the term is, and if so, what does that actually mean?!

Have bought lens from Liddle. iPod no longer available to trade (I'm keeping it)

Now only looking for an iPhone 3G (16GB Preferably) to trade with my Nokia E63 and PSP (possibly add cash for a 16GB in very good condition).

May also consider HTC's or other touch screen phones as long as they will work with "3" network

Bump No. 2 :)

It's blue, it has a 1GB card in it, but to be honest I listed at £70 assuming something would come my way by post, so I'd like postage on top of that.

I am pretty reluctant to sell anyway, as I would be left without a phone at all if I do sell on it's own.
