Wanted: Lacie external hard drive power supply

Hi all. I've had the misfortune of suffering what I thought was a hard drive failure. But after searching around on the internet it would appear that the issue could be with the power supply.

So, before shelling out for a new drive and expensive data recovery, I was wondering if anyone had an unused power supply 'lying around'?

My external drive is a Lacie Big Disk tripple interface 1TB. From reading the label on the back of the power supply it would appear to be...

Model number: "ACU057A-0512",
P/N: "GP-ACU057A-0512",
Input: "100-240V~ 50-60Hz 1.5A"
Output: "5V - - 4.2A
12V - - 3A"
The round plug on the end also has 4 small pins in a square shaped formation.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
Shipping/Payment:
To be arranged with the seller, but hopefully less than the £30 Lacie are charging!

I'm in the process of having mine replaced by lacie. Have you tried their website for support?

Sorry I just saw they want £30 notes for one, I guess it out of warranty then!

When the power supply gave out on an external drive, I just bought a SATA caddy and put the drive in that....

Useful if you need to recover the data.

Yes it's a good two years old now and I probably wouldn't be able to find the receipt either! Plus I couldn't seem to find the exact supply on that site - the voltages specified etc weren't exact. I think I'll give them a phone if I have no luck and have to use them in the end.

Thanks

That's an idea. I'll have a look into that if I don't get any luck.
