Wanted: Laptop working but with broken screen £120.00

AyrBargainHunterAyrBargainHunter

As per the title, I'm looking for a laptop for a bit of a project.

It must be in full working order other than the screen (and maybe battery).

Anyone????

Hmmm How dodgy? What's the spec and how much are you looking for?

i have a compaq presario cq60 , using it at the minute works fine except the cooling fan is broke and needs a new battery so after a while of using it will turn off from overheating £30 of parts is all it needs

just loose solder. dual core, 2gb ram, 120gb hard drive, 17" screen. brilliant laptop but selling all my computer and laptop

i have a fujitsu amilo li2727, everything works, occasionally the screen flickers, and the left mouse button doesn't make the clicky noise but does work, the battery doesn't hold much charge,

it is hackintosh compatible, i tried it out once, if you like that sort of thing.

I can do it for £110 delivered.

Sorry - that one's not for me. Thanks anyway.

Does the port work if it's held in a certain way? How much are you looking for?

I'll need to double check, haven't used it for a while, it has a dual core, 1.5gig to 2gig ram, 100gig hd, 15.6 lcd. Last time I used it I had XP on it, I runs win 7 fine, but came with vista installed, has a COA for that but has faded, I will have to install that or wipe the hard drive.

i got a HP 106-SA Everything works but theres a nasty crack on the screen. win7 was installed upon purchase, about a year old. Screen has lcd leaking. 3gb ram 250gb hdd i think and AMD vision.

Now that sounds ideal. How much? And would you send first since you have no feedback?

Yes it does work if held in certain way. £70

I have the box, the power cable and all paperwork. TBH as it is only 1 year old and I paid £350 I'd like something like £160 to put towards a new laptop and not too keen on sending first but I guess half and half will do?

    Ah. :(

My budget is £120. But to be fair, for a one year old laptop, that cost £350 new, and requires £80-120 to repair I think £120 sounds fair.

I'd be happy to pay 50% upfront and 50% on delivery.

Let me know what you think. I can't move on the £120 so might have to keep looking.

I've a few fully restored laptops that I can take apart for you to put together again? They cost about £250 each after new parts. ;)

    :p

Erm....not really what I'm after. If you had one with a broken screen, dead battery that otherwise works, of a similar spec to Uzzi's I'd be very interested.

Okay I'll have a think about it. Btw just popped into my head, I've also got a HP Running Vista it has no ram or hdd with a screen crack and well the chassis is cracked and well out of place. its got an AMD turion (x2) processor and it powers up all works just battered a damn lot. if you like I could sell you that for £50

except mine was a higher model.

let me know which one will do cuz I'm actually updating this comment with the first laptop and its got tonnes of data I need to remove.

The other laptop I'd happily post first via a courier, I think I might even have the box somewhere.

Well...this might work.....I'm not fussed about the HDD in the HP 106-SA, but the spec and condition otherwise sounds perfect.

What if you keep the HDD (sell separately?) and I'll pay £120 for the rest. Something I can afford, and you don't have to worry about your data and you can sell the disk separately at your leisure. (Assuming it's a 2.5" sata disk, and you're only keeping the HDD not the mounting caddy).
