Didn't think it was that simple?

Does he really need it to be left handed? Many left handed people (including myself) find it easier to play a standard right handed guitar.
My wife bought me a left hander & I had to take it back & get a standard instead.

I think it does need to be left really :)

I'm a lefty and have been playing right-handed guitar for 30 years now. If your lad's not actually played at all yet then I'd recommend he played right-handed too. Will save time and money in the long run.

yes it is that easy

That's what they said when he started writing at school and his writing is NOT great..bless him! He plays pool and cricket left handed and air guitars (I know!) left handed although throws a ball right handed :)

So IS it or NOT that easy to turn a right handed guitar into a left one. Two people I know have both said different things too!

You'll need to remove the scratchplate and attach it to the other side of the body. Also, more importantly your bridges will need to be flipped round. This isn't a problem if they're not physically attached (and also it would help if they're horizontally symmetrical and not curved or chamfered on one side)

And for my final edit - have a look at the next-to-final post on this page - seems eminently sensible...

Thank you for that...he does pick a guitar up and go to play it the lefty way. :)
