As I say its in fair used condition - screen is very good no deep scratches just normal very very light marks because it is a glass screen

Comes with headset - data cable - charger - and I will even included the charging cradle which is not sold with the phone.

The only thing I cannot find right now is the software CD but a later more up to date version of LG PC Suite can be downloaded.

I am not going to get into a long negotiation about price. the price is fixed at £40 plus the shipping method of your choice at cost. This is based on CEX offering £37 for the phone and that is without the cradle.

the phone is unlocked and has the latest firmware flashed onto it and all functions are working as they should.

Ahhh Thanks a million for pics and all!
I'm seriously interested, but is their no negotiation on price at all?
I can offer you £40 including Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery (£5.50 I think) which will leave you with £34.50 after postage. (Will pay via PPG so no fees).

On a side note, CEX offer £32 for this and not £37....! This appears to be grade C to me, CEX are very fussy about the condition of their phones....

Will pay you now if you accept so you can get it out for me today :)

two points

1. RM will not guarantee SD due to current weather conditions - also RMSD will be £6.70 as the package weighs 540 grams
2. I think £40 is a very realistic price and CEX grade C is for seriously damaged stuff without original box or accessories - so sorry the price is fixed.

If you are happy with £46 and can get the funds to me today (PPG or BT) in the next hour I will get it to the PO this afternoon

Hi their mate, phone received on Christmas Eve as promised. Must say it’s a stunning phone!!!

However, have got a few problems! :X

1. The IMEI on the box and the phone do not match. Any particular reason why?

2. You described the condition of the phone as “fair used condition” – however, I did not expect the battery cover to be completely scratched up! There are scuffs all over the phone and the bezel has many scratches. Must say I am not satisfied.

3. The item did not come very well packaged – I wouldn’t think some newspaper and black tape would be a substitute for bubble wrap!

4. When you unlock the phone, the date and time still stay at the bottom fading away in the background. Defnitely isn’t normal since I haven’t set it like this! (Kind of like Ghosting?)

5. The screen appears to be flickering – at first I thought it must have just been me – but after closer inspection I realised that it is in fact flickering! I don’t have a clue as to what the problem is since weirdly it is not always flickering, yesterday it was flickering like mad and today it seems to work perfectly – what makes it even more weird is that it only flickers on some menus and not throughout the phone?

Any suggestions mate?

OK - got your SMS this morning ....but please bear in mind that I am about to go off on a business trip and will have limited internet access for the next few days...

However, have got a few problems! :X

1. The IMEI on the box and the phone do not match. Any particular reason why?
Please PM me the IMEI numbers from the box and the phone to show the difference

2. You described the condition of the phone as “fair used condition” – however, I did not expect the battery cover to be completely scratched up! There are scuffs all over the phone and the bezel has many scratches. Must say I am not satisfied.
I would say the phone is in fair used condition, the photos above show the worst cast mark on the bezel

3. The item did not come very well packaged – I wouldn’t think some newspaper and black tape would be a substitute for bubble wrap!
The item came packaged in the same way that any internet retailer woulf have sent it - in the original box in a plstic bag and the handset itself was wraped in bubble wrap. You did want the phone shipped within an hour of sending payment.

4. When you unlock the phone, the date and time still stay at the bottom fading away in the background. Defnitely isn’t normal since I haven’t set it like this! (Kind of like Ghosting?)
Not sure what you mean - please send a photo. Normally when you unlock the phone the homescreen kind of rotates away / fades to the first menu screen

I have had he phone for about four months and used it daily and have never had a problem with the screen flickering.

1/ Have PM'd you to show the difference

2&3/ Fair enough, I can live with that. Apologies, no offence meant

4&5/ I have had a search around and seems this is a very common problem with LG arenas - ghosting and flickering - and when I thought I had found the solution (which was a bug in the software), I flashed the phone with an older firmware that supposedly made the problem go away.

See here

However, to my disappointment the problem still exists - and after further research - it seems that you did not encounter the problem because the screen was set to "Auto Brightness" and I have turned that option off so it is always at full brightness.

I have also tried doing a factory reset and still same problem persists.

As for taking a picture (as requested by you above), it is actually ghosting so I can't really get it into a picture.

Any suggestions now? (Any guarantee remaining on the phone, have you got details of the original owner or do you have the purchase receipt?)

OK I have had a look at the link you posted and all I can say is that I have never ever had a problem with this phone

the only reason I sold the phone is that internet tethering was tempremental via my business laptop and I used the phone as my business mobile. Therefore I got hold of a used Androis as mobile tethering is more straightforward - no special software required, as my business laptop does not allow me to load third party sitware.

I am sure I had auto brightness tuned off otherwise I would not be able to read things liek SMS messages without glasses - but i did do a factory reset before sending it out - hence auto brightness would e on.

so all I can say is that i have no idea what has changed with the phone. I can honestly say that the phone was functioning perfectly with the latest firmware. The only real "issue" was the chip on the bezel which was photographed and a few scratches on the back commensurate with its age

I got the phone about 5-6 months ago from either here or ebay - can't remember which but as far as I know it has no warranty.

As fara as the IMEI numbers are concerned the IMEI you sent me is the same as I recorded for the handset but I did not check teh box - thats the box i got it in.

So I am at a lss what is wrong.

But to try and be fair I will offer you a £20 refund and you keep the phone as is. By making this offer I am not saying I knew there was a problem with the phone because I can honestly say the ohone was a described with no functional issues - I have used it daily for the last 5-6 months on O2 without any issues whatsoever - but I make the offer as a gesture of goodwill.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the offer.

However, after doing some more research on the internet it seems that this is a common problem with all LG Arena's due to the software and no fault of yours at all.

Furthermore, I have reflashed the phone with another firmware and still had the same problem - so I done several resets via the service menu - and the problem appears to have disappeared! The firmware does have terrible bugs such as random restarting, crashing, T9 dictionary not complete and so on but I can live with it.

To conclude, I feel it is highly unfair for me to take the £20 refund from you since it is no fault of yours at all and the handset itself is not faulty but LG's dodgy software. As for the issue with the IMEI, I understand that this is also not your fault thus we can also leave this aside.

I therefore am willing to keep the handset at the original purchase price of £45 and do not want a refund. Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused you. All I ask of you is to leave me positive feedback since I have done the same for you.

After all, it is one hell of a great phone and the hardware itself is not faulty :)

Many Thanks
Bilal
