I currently have an unmodded ps2 slim. there are a couple of games that werent released here that i desperately want to play. whats the easiest way to do this? I've also got a high spec pc, so if there was a very reliable ps2 emulator available that would be suitable. anyone else got any ideas / equipment to sell?

try and get yourself some software called swapmagic.

its a disc swapping technique as the name suggests. if you have a ps2 with a pop up lid, youll find a little gadget online that'll let you open it without the ps2 knowing its been opened.

worked great on my old bulky ps2

shouldnt need any permanent mods, and wont need to open case so you can keep your warranty intact :)

...it may also be an idea to state from which region you wish to play PS2 titles, e.g. the US, Japan, or both.

avoid swap magic and go for a memor32 memory card hack. Using the memento firmware on the Memor32 allows you to play imports.

Try www.games4play.com or www.thegametrain.com .. retail price is about £35.

what annoys me about the card that you have to patch each game before you can play it as it does not have an inbuilt patcher like what the ds games and psp firmeare does

memory 32 aka inderpendance exploit, you can create yourself, but from what ive read theres no sence useing it on a slim ps2, i had it on my old phat ps2 with hdloader and a 160gb hdd with over 60 games worked like a dream plus i could play jap and us games.

so can u exploit a standard 8mb card to do it? and nobody has answered my pc emulator question, anybody know?

The Independence exploit Has absolutely nout to do with Memor32 mate..

The put it simple the INDEPENDENCE EXPLOIT required for you to have a PS1 game in the drive + memory card.

Whereas Memor32/Freevast for the more intelligent people who know that that memory card is a rip off.... uses just the memory card..
