Wanted: Media centre / HTPC Case - Antec or similar

Morning,

I'm on the lookout for a nice looking Media Centre case - something which will fit in with normal AV equipment and look the part - Antec Veris/Veris Micro or something along those lines.

Happy to consider a full system if it's cheap enough, or a barebones (I already have my system but can easily strip it back).

Would like one with an LCD/VFD if possible.

Thanks!

Thanks for the offer, good price but not quite what I'm looking for I'm afraid.

I'm after something that looks more like a bit of OEM hifi kit, hence the Veris models I've been looking at...

Quick bump.

Looking for something along these sort of lines -

Shame you're not closer..... I have a Silverstone Crown CW02B that you may have been interested in, only I'd rather not post/courier it as it's huge.

osx - nice looking case. Ideally I'd have liked an LCD/VFD but I may be interested - Is it the whole HTPC you're selling or just the case? Either way, can you get some specs/prices up please? (model number for the case would be good too)

PhlangePhace - That's a shame. Where abouts in the country (roughly) are you?

It's a whole HTPC (except from disks). Got both AMD and Intel components.
Case is a MC-1200 (matx PSU included)
Prolimatech Samuel 17 low profile cooler (reviews http://www.prolimatech.com/en/reviews/detail.asp?id=42&page=1)
2GB DDR3
Palit nvidia 1GB 450 GTS
Optical DVDRW

Looking for £200 for the above + the combo (cpu/mobo)

North Birmingham..... minutes away from the M5/M6 junction.

Ah, not really close to anywhere that I travel to regularly unfortunately. :(

Out of interest, what sort of money would you be looking for? (may be worth a de-tour etc.)

osx - bit rich for me I'm afraid, I'd only really want to keep the case myself and would have to split and sell the other components. Thanks anyway though :)

You would also need a PSU with the case, wouldnt' you?

Is it an ATX or MATX PSU that it takes?

I have an MATX psu already in my existing system.

Would depend on the PSU that's included (or otherwise) though whether I would want/need it.

Cheers,

Apologies, need to learn to read, I can see that you said it's MATX!

In that case I do already have a MATX PSU, however if I was offered a case with a PSU included then this wouldn't automatically exclude it - I can always keep the better one and resell the spare.

Do you have the remote for yours BTW?
#13
The remote is included. Don't think I can split at the moment though as I will be offering the HTPC for sale tomorrow locally.

Probably too much given your response to osx :D
But just for info purposes take a look at what Scan sell them for and halve it (_;)

Oh and it also has a Seasonic M12 750W PSU in it, although I found it doesn't like power hungry graphics cards for some reason. :|

osx - no problem, if you do decide to split please let me know. :)

PhlangePhace - that's a good price (i don't mind paying more for a better case, just didn't really want the hassle of buying components I don't want just to sell them on again). Don't think it's worth me potentially spending £50/£60 on fuel though. I'll keep you in mind though if the above doesn't happen and I don't find anything suitable.
#16
Yeah, no probs.

I know what you mean exactly.... the distance between us and associated travel/fuel costs does make it less of a good deal.

It's a shame it's so huge and heavy, as this is what prevents me from selling to someone that isn't local to me. Oh well, never mind.

Good luck with your search.
