I'm after a media player thingy that i can store movies and music on to play on my tv.
Seen them on Ebay, but they are a little pricey.

So, if anyone has one for sale or knows where i can get one from please post details.

Not really sure how much i want to spend but the price will depend on the size, age and brand.

Thanks for looking!
Shipping/Payment:
Looking to pay by paypal.
Please post a price if looking to sell.

you dont want a normal hardrive in a caddy you need one with a flash bios that runs script code,it has to have the software on it to encode the films, music etc.....

example

or
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=700959

other options

xbox 1,softmod it with media center on and connect it to pc using crossover(rj32 cable)
using xbox 1 you can also get weather and watch/stream film trailers and download music straight from internet.......................they can also output 1080i(using vga cable)
info on xbox 1 here m8

script code??????????
as long as you wanna play avi, divx etc, a caddy with tv output will be fine, i can pm you the link to the one i bought from ebay if you like

please do mate, thanks.

i would like to see a hardrive send data to a pc and decode it using no built in software.
i would like to see the link also as i never heard of that before

http://*********.co.uk/3-5-HDD-Media-Hard-Disk-Drive-DVD-AV-MP4-Player-Silver_W0QQitemZ170218895622QQihZ007QQcategoryZ86758QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

if u mean something like this its not just a caddy, its got other stuff inside to be able to send the file and so on to the tv othersise, a tv can only pic up video, picture streams,so the caddy must have software built on a flash/bios to enable playback

I got 2 media players from Maplin years ago .Excellent things they are too . You had to drop your own hard drive in though upto a 500G .They came with cables ,remote control ,Power adapter ,manual etc .Plugs into any TV,Plasma,Monitor , and has built in software to play your mp3's aswell as playing avi's,vob's,mpeg's ,divx etc .Really saves all that faffing writing to disk everytime you want to watch a film .Just rip your DVD's to a folder and transfer it to the drive .They all come up as thumbnails , highlight the one you want to watch and click OK . Transfer your Photos to a folder too , press slideshow and there shown on your TV with music in the background from your Mp3 folder . Really clever things for £39 plus a drive .

These are ones I have . 2 x 2.5" HDD's in caddy [the caddys are £9.50] , the black caddy was £25.00 years ago , prices are alot cheaper now .The two silver one's are the media player's . These play everything you have on the drives ,mp3's , photos, videos on to any TV/Plasma/Monitor .They come with all cables and remote control .All the above were bought empty , I just fitted the appropiate HDD into the cases .The Media players are the ones to buy nowadays , they'll read all your SD/ media cards straight from your camera and as well as back up drive ,they'll allow you to directly watch anything from them .

I have a Freecom 35, similar to the caddies above but with the additional benefit of being able to connect them to your wireless network via an ethernet port. I fitted a HD into mine but never use it now, I simply stream the file from my main PC over the network!

i have a popcorn hour and it is by far the best media player out there

www.popcornhour.com

lot more expensive than what is being discussed in here (around £136 after import tax and postage) but it has hdmi output and can play x264 movies in 1080p :D
