Think the best I have seen one of these for is about £35 brand new, plus then the postage on top!!!
I was looking to get one myself, seeing as some of the PS2 games I want to plsy are becoming very hard to find!!
Could be quite troublesome patching games and having to burn them, but apparently there is a USB HDD addition coming to the firmware for this in the not to distant future.
Let me know if you manage to find any cheaper than that mate,

Mike..

This site has great service, my mate ordered one from there and I ordered a CycloDS.

His came the next day, my Cyclo was out of stock for a while, but they kept me updated and all went well:

does this allow you to somehow copy your original games or something? (first I've heard of it)

EDIT: just noticed 32MB, so hardly likely. Thought it was 32 GB!!

You can just rip your games on your PC (or most likely "borrow" them from certain sites), with this if yiou want games on disc you have to patch them and burn to disc, if you have an external HDD you can dump them on there and they should play fine from that.

Thanks Mike - still not sure how this works though. This is only 32MB so it obviously can't store the games. You mention the external HDD - does that HDD connect with this and then this to the PS2 or something? Apols for being dumb on this :?

From what I gather this is supposed to allow you to save your games and then transport them to the PC for whatever reason, the thing is another tem "Team Memento" have made a firmware that will let you play back-ups using this, either on Disc or through an external HDD, from the looks of it you can use any extrenal HDD and just plug it straight in to the USB port on the PS2.

Thanks again Mike. I'll google around and see what else I can come up with. If this works as you say with an external HDD, it would be a nice way of keeping all the PS2 games together as a space-saving device...

Here is the Link to the official Memento website (mods- there are no illegal files there:P).
that should tell you more about how it works etc.

Cool. Just read the quick guide and it answers all my questions.

I'm getting one of these, backing up all my original discs and then 'giving' them away!

no, all kids stuff - don't use the PS2 myself. But I'll keep you in mind later - but you noticed I put giving in scare quotes..?

just read the forums on the official site and methinks it's a big risk to throw away cash on this until the 1.3 firmware is released. The memento team have been promising it for months (and saying it's 99% done) but much forum talk concerns whether it will ever be released. Lots of probs reported and many unhappy customers. I'm waiting and hoping. See this thread http://www.gamegen.com.br//index.php?showtopic=21220&st=60

I use one of these memory cards with the 1.2e firmware on a slimline ps2 and have only had 1 "backup" not work, even plays ntsc games as well when patched to pal.
