I'm fed up with my o2 wireless box. NAT has suddenly went to strict and have tried everything and can't get it open. New router time. Anyone got one of these for sale?

will also take a sky branded netgear dg834. Anyone got one?

Erm, seriously, you do not want a netgear, they make terrible routers!

i'm no router expert, where does the PN come in? There seems to be so many of these netgears

EDIT: quick check on fleabay completed listings shows about an average price of just over 20 quid, thats postage included. whats the condition like and what does it come with?

Yeah, because they are all flawed! and they release a supposedly fixed 'new one' with a new flaw everytime, trust me! avoid them like the plague!

i've never owned one but apparently they work best with o2, and i've done a LOT of reading!

Would love to get into it with you mate but if i keep replying to you this thread will get closed for going off topic, sorry! Mods i'm trying to post as little as possible, please note!

So they might, sadly they won't last very long, or you will get some other issue, perhaps one day you will return and thank me.,. their web applet software is outdated, you cant do anything without these things wanting to reboot! i know i have had 5 different netgear routers, 2 of them failed completely after 6 months, the other 3 gave me major headaches..

i currently own a NETGEAR! i will get shot of it as soon as i find me a decent Wireless N router with gigabit lan and a few other things, i bought this thinking surely this one will be ok! ( WNR 3500 ) wrong!

If you wan't to read good reviews, you google 'Netgear rulez!' if you want to hear problems you google 'Netgear router dead' or 'Netgear Router problems'

i mean come on, v4? v5? what does this tell you? netgear screwed this one up 4 - 5 times already?

with a netgear and the right firmware you can adjust your signal to noise ratio and get better speeds. no other routers do that. Have always had a decent connection with a netgear. I have a DG834 with the above if your interested, ,not sure of version though as the right firmware on it.

JAYJAY your all talking from the dark side of your rear... netgear dg834g works really well with o2 no drop outs no nat problems with the 360

OP look around on freecycle or freegle on yahoo for one or either a sky version and reflash it takes about 5mins to remove sky software and reflash with netgears own . Mines been runny for last 18mths with no problems and o2 gave me the help with the router settings

aye i've read great reports everywhere about those netgears and o2. Waiting to hear back from any of you guys. I'm also in the market for a sky branded one if anyone has one?

sorry missed out that you had one on offer. Can you find out what version it is? I just need to be sure it'll work on o2 and the older versions don't it seems.

I'd need to know the version first. It should say underneath after DG834G v1 v2 v3 etc

will take it at asking provided my bid fails for a router on ebay(which it probably will, can't see myself winning it for that price). Ends in less than 40 mins. Will get back to you then.

I can match the same price as ed, I only used it for about a month though the power supply works but seems a bit wobbly for some reason.

This one isnt Sky branded I have 2 of them.

Mine defo works with O2 as I am on BE which is theire sister company who O2 bought out when they moved into the broadband market. As I said its flashed with DGTeam's firmware, although its easy to flash to original. It was a Sky branded one I flashed so I could adjust my SNR as my home is quite far from the exchange so I wanted to tweak my line to get best speeds. Let me know if you want it, will do for same as above if you dont take his first.
#23
thanks to both of you for replying, options options! I'll take the original offer first of course which i've agreed to, but if that fails both you guys are in line. just waiting on my ebay bid failing(hopefully)
