Wanted: Netgear wireless router (specific model)

Hi all

I'm looking for one of the following Netgear wireless routers:
- WGR614 v8
- WGR614L
- WGR602 v3
- WGR602 v4

If anyone has one of the above routers, let me know if you fancy selling it :-)

(You can check the model number of the router by looking at the label on the bottom if it, btw)
Cheers,
oldmanhouse

Slight typo above...
The last two should be:
- WG602 v3
- WG602 v4

Disregard the list of routers above. I'm open to any router that'll run DD-WRT. See thread for details.
Thanks

Shipping/Payment:
Would prefer collection to save on postage (I live in South Norfolk area but visit Brighton regularly so can meet in either location).

Can do paypal, bank transfer or cash in person.

Collection not essential btw

£17 is a bit more than I'd like to pay. Are you anywhere near me (in locations given above) for collection? I've seen them be offered on AVForums for as little as a tenner (not sure if that's a valid price comparison.. if mods/other lurkers could please advise.. can dig out the link if necessary)

if they are going for that low i may keep it. as a family member will need it eventually for there new home. i live in birmingham. and postage alone is going to be £4 so not really worth it if they are only worth a 10

That's fair enough. I keep a spare DG834G in the cupboard in case myself, friends or family need it if theirs has packed up. Has been very useful on several occasions!

Looks good from the picture. If you could let me know the specific model, that'd be great - will keep an eye on the thread but got work 'til 5-9pm so might not reply then. :)

Well, if you can't see the model number (e.g. WGR614 v9, WGR614 v8, WG602 v4) on the bottom of the router as in this picture
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y239/narangz/review/wgr614/bottom-label.jpg
then another thing you could look for is the "FCC ID" which I can try look up and derive the model number from.

Failing that, and the router is all connected up and working, you could log into the settings page (by either going to address http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://www.routerlogin.com when online with the router).

And failing that, I might be able to work out which one it is from some pictures. Pics from all angles would be best, making sure there's one of the back (where the plugs go).

Let me know how you get on and if you need any more tips :)

Ah ok. That particular version isn't suitable for what I'm going to be using it for (flashing with DD-WRT, if anyone is interested).
Thanks for looking and getting back to me though

Would you be interested in a Sky one?

I might be if it is one of the models that are listed in my original post (and possibly others, but I'd have to look up details on it first).

It doesn't have a model number on it because sky put there own label on the bottom. If you google I'm sure you will find the info on it as sky only released 1 model of White netgear router. The newer ones where black and some are sagem.

Done a bit of searching and it seems Sky issue DG834GT routers, which, unfortunately isn't suitable for what I want. Thanks for taking the time to post though, much appreciated :)

So, anyone else got anything for me? :-D

Bump 1.

I think I'm being to restrictive in asking for one of four different routers when there's hundreds of different ones that'd do the same job. I was asking for Netgear purely for cosmetic reasons as I like their design.

I'm going to broaden my search so I'll consider any router which will run DD-WRT firmware.
You can check if your router will run DD-WRT firmware by going to this website (http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database) and searching the manufacturer (e.g. Netgear) or the model number (e.g. WG602).

A Netgear is still my preferred option but from what I can tell, the ones I've asked for aren't all that common so will settle for anything that runs DD-WRT and "looks nice" :-D
