The new Netgear XAVB1004 is supposed to be available from 28th August, and I'm interested in getting one. The cheapest I've found so far is £115.30 at Broadbandbuyer, so I'd be grateful if you'd post here if you can find it cheaper elsewhere.

heya, these just look like standard 4 port ethernet over power adapters.

if you don't want the 200mb which this model is, checkout the below deal i posted a while back for 85mb ones.

http://hotukdeals.com/item/450396/linksys-plts200-uk-85mbps-homeplug-

I find these fine for 720p playback, not too sure if they have the grunt for 1080p as I've not bothered to try that yet.

or if you aren't really after the 4 port version, you could go for this good deal:

a pair of 200mb single port ones:

hope that helps :)

sorry m8 looks like a total rip off , and to connect any other boxes via the mains you will need more av adapters at approx 40-50 each,
Look up the zyxel 660hwp which is the same but also has a dsl modem built in, was on special offer but can easily be had for 20-30 less than this.

Thanks for the advice ascen and maddogb.

The XAVB1004 kit comprises one XAV101 (Powerline AV Ethernet Adaptor) and one XAV1004 (Powerline AV Adaptor with Ethernet Switch), but it looks as though buying the Linksys PLTS200-UK 85Mbps and an additional AV adaptor would work out to be much cheaper than this kit.

if you are wanting a 1 port version of the plts200uk here is the link:

i would not recommend if though purely because it is worth dropping another few quid and getting the 4 port version. as long as you have two devices in your house, be them 1 port or 4 port, all will be fine.

i run three 4 port ones at home
