Hi Guys

Just wondering if someone could tell me where i can get one of those carts that you can put in a DS with loads of games on it? I am currently of the bargain hunt for a DS for my daughters birthday.

I have seen the R4 cards on amazon and then i think i need a microSD 1 or 2 gb to go in it. How i get the games I'm a little unsure, I have heard people saying things about language translation and other stuff of which i have no idea about. Can i download the games of Mininova or other such sites and then just save them to the SD?

If anyone has one for sale for a reasonable price with games already on please let me know. Any light anyone can shed will be much appriciated. :)

I got an edge card with 2 gb memory card from amazon for about £20 delivered within 2 days, don't think as technical for home brew & stuff but my 5 year old is only interested in playing games!

Just had a look on amazon & the edge cards have shot up in price but they have r4 with 2gb memory for 15.99 + 1.99 p&p

mymemory.co.uk is a good place for buying micro sd cards cheap.. ( Memory card that goes into the flash cart)

The M3 cards are the best so I'm told, they hold more memory. I have only ever used the TTDS from dealextreme and they're fine.

I'd reccomend getting an Acekard BTW, nice GUI.. I

Thanks guys this is all really helpful, i have found deal extereme best for SD card $5.29 delivered for a 1gb card. I think i have an adapter so it will fit in my pc's card reader.

Still unsure about the actual r4 card some are around $2 for the 'shell' and others (with a Card reader and protective case) are $14. Is it just the shell i need if i buy my own sd card?

You definitely don't want to buy a shell, as you'll be quite dissapointed when it arrvies lol....garr it aint working why not... oh wait its just the plastic shell for one lol!:-D

I would reccomend buying one of these:

And then buying an 8gb memory stick from here:

You guys are the best and many thanks Timothy :friends:

I was just looking at the acekard one so i'm defo gonna get that i think, if you say its a good one (coz i have no clue  )

I've seen a 2gb sd card on DExt for $6.50 delivered, i am trying to keep my costs to a minimum (feeling the pinch already of the actual DS), so do i really need 8gb, i know this is probs a really good deal, but i am a bit of a penny pincher.

Thanks a bunch i have certainly learnt a few things that scouring google didn't do. My daughters birthday is on 15th November and i feel i will have it all sorted now :-D
