WANTED: Nokia E90 (Communicator) Mobile 'Phone Handset either Unlocked/SIM Free or "Pay As You Go" on O2 network

Hi,

I have an existing contract with O2 that runs for another six months that I bought with my XDA Mini S handset 18-month deal last December.

However, I'm looking to change to a Nokia E90 (Communicator) handset as soon as possible, and wondered if anybody had one they would be willing to sell.

It needs to be unlocked to all networks or have an existing "Pay As You Go" O2 SIM that I can swap out for my existing SIM.

Play.com, Expansys.com & OneStopPhoneShop are all listing the handset around £500.

I can pay by PayPal from my verified account & would like to request despatch by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Thanks for reading & replying if you can help.

BFN,

fp.

Anybody recently taken advantage of an O2 upgrade to a Nokia E90 but then decided to keep their own handset instead?

Or is anybody coming to a period when they can upgrade & would like to have a brand new Nokia E90 delivered to them for selling to me thereafter?

Hi,

Thanks for replying. I didn't realise there were multiple colours until then :)

I think I'd prefer the Nokia E90 in Mocca (well, I'd like Black or Silver, but they are not available yet, and my need is more urgent than the release schedule for next year). Pink is also due to be available!

What price were you looking for?

For anybody's information:
ElectronicShopper.net seem to have the Mocca listed at £465...

FYI:

Item up to £525 on ElectronicShopper.net now, but Play.com have then for £499.99.

Expansys.com list it at £554.95.

Come on... somebody must be leaving O2 & could upgrade to a new handset before they do... I'm sure you can beat £499.99...

Thanks, but I'm only looking for one, otherwise I'd use the O2 Business web site to place an order for multiple items.

ElectronicShopper.net is (now) listing the Mocca handset at £450 (delivered).

Can you beat that price?

OK, thanks for your reply.

If you do decide you can lower your expectations on price at a later date, then please come back to me.

Hi fanpages!

I have recently extended my contract with o2 for another 12 months and am opting which phone to choose for my upgrade. As I'm happy with my current handset, would you be willing to buy a Nokia E90 Communicator from me if I were to choose it for an upgrade.

Obviously the phone would be brand new - I would open it to make sure that all of the contents are present and correct also. Play.com have these for £549.99 but I would base my offer quite a bit lower than that - say £450.00?

Hi,

Thank you both for dropping by & taking the time to comment/propose a solution to my problem.

Play.com's price has gone up since I originally created this thread, but as noted above (Thanks, Col) ElectronicShopper have dropped their price again.

I know a price comparison with an auction listing is not a fair one, but I have been monitoring many of these handsets on eBay & the average market price seems to be between £320 & £380 (including Royal Mail Special Delivery).

I certainly wouldn't want to pay more than £400 for one, and have not been tempted to bid on any auctions yet (as I have been waiting for those parties to fulfil their requirements so that I can snag one at a much lower price).

That said, I am needing a new handset, and if I do not find a Nokia E90 within the next week or so, I may well just buy a really cheap'n'dull characterless one until my O2 contract allows me to upgrade (in May/June this year).

So, all of this aside, if you had a brand new handset, boxed, and unused apart from to review the contents, then I would be interested if your expectations on price were in line with the current "market" pricing via auction listings.

Could you accept a lower offer?

Thanks for coming back to post your thoughts in any respect.

I have the nokia 9300i very good phone interested £100 ? almost new....

Hey, thanks for your quick response to my earlier posting.

I always find eBay listings to be a lottery - I saw two E90 communicators being sold within the last hour; one went for £350 and the other one went for £435!!

In line with your price valuations and from the Electronicshopper.net website I would be happy for you to have it for £400. I know its right on your price limit and I actually physically haven't got the phone as yet - I am contemplating on getting my chosen upgrade within two weeks once I have made my decision.

If you could let me know if this would be acceptable then I will order it as soon as possible to minimise any further delays.

Thanks in advance,

Neil

Sorry... I have been watching a few eBay listings & didn't want to commit to buying from you if I was then going to let you down.

To be honest, given that the listings I have seen in the past day or so have all gone for £320-£355 (including delivery), I think I'll not waste your time & perhaps you could upgrade to a Nokia N95 8Gb or similar where the prices are remaining high.

Thanks for your kind offer, though.

I think I will request that this thread be closed in any respect... unless somebody makes an offer of a Nokia E90 to me for around the average eBay price at present.

Thanks for getting back to mate. If I were to lower my asking price to this level (say £360 including delivery), would you reconsider.

I'm happy with my original handset that I've got and I thought I'd take the opportunity to help someone out. If thats not to your liking then please don't be afraid to say so!

Thanks for now

Thanks for the reminder :)

Yes, I would reconsider if the delivery method were by Royal Mail Special Delivery... could you despatch tomorrow (Saturday before 12noon) to ensure arrival with me on Monday 28 January 2008)?

Also, I'm sorry to ask, but do you have any recorded feedback on any other forum/site?

My user name with eBay (704) & AVForums.com (24) is the same as here. I also have a verified PayPal account.

Furthermore, do you have any photos of the actual items for sale?

Hi FP,

As I said I don;t have the handset yet but if you definitely want it then I will order it as my upgrade tomorrow. Obviously delivery to you won't be for approximately a week after that, but I will sent it by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

I have a verified PayPal account but I'm afraid I only deal on here - I think my feedback here is sufficient enough to throw away any fears!

I can take photos as soon as the phone is in my possession, just have to wait for the handset to come through.

Many thanks

Sorry... yes, I'm snowed-under with stuff to do at present & I had forgotten what you had said.

Obviously I don't want to commit to purchasing until you actually have the handset, and I guess you don't want to upgrade without some commitment from me.

Hmmm....

Let's say, for argument's sake, that I agree in principle at £360 delivered, then I have to back-out for whatever reason before you have the handset in your possession... do you feel comfortable that you could sell the handset for £360 elsewhere (here, or on eBay, etc) so you do not lose out?

If the answer is yes, then please go ahead. If you feel that you would not be able to find another buyer, then please do not progress.

I am not looking to mess you around, but I do need a new handset urgently now, and if my current model ceases to work, say, tomorrow, I cannot be without a 'phone for a week or more before you take delivery & re-send on to me.

Obviously, once I have the knowledge you have the handset, we agree the deal, and payment is made, I will not be retracting regardless.

I hope I'm making some sense.

Do you know what the lead time will be for delivery to you?

Or... if you feel you can trust my word (too), then could you request that the new handset be delivered to me directly (to save a few days)?

Thanks for your comments.

Hi FP

Ok thats fine, I'm sure somone, somewhere will want this handset should you not go through with the sale for any reason. I understand that its a very sought after model with a lot features so I shouldn't have a problem!

I have ordered it this morning - apparently they can only send it to the registered users address (i.e. mine) and they have said that it will take 7-10 days. As soon as I have it in my possesion I will post some pics for you before you decide.

If for any reason there's any delays then I'll contact you via this thread first.

Kind regards

Thanks for taking for comments as I intended them.

I hope my existing handset will last for the next 7-10+ days but, yes, I'll let you know if my plans have to change too.

Thanks again.

Hi, been watching your thread for a while,

I have a Mocha Nokia E90 simfree in very good condition including two USB cradles (one for work and one for home)

Boxed etc.

Various other software blacklist, phone pilot, apsicore gsm tracker etc, autoprofiles, best taskman, tracker.

Will swap for a Nokia E51 in black simfree unlocked etc. You pay the postage for both as I must be mad.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for writing... although I am a little confused why you think I have a Nokia E51 to swap... as I don't.

No idea... but I'm not a heavy user of internet services; I just need them occasionally for a couple of minutes per day at most.

Just wondered cos I like this phone but decided without an unlimited data tariff or similar it wouldn't be worth the outlay for me at least.

I'm just planning to use it for viewing/creating/updating MS-Office documents, but having also had the 9000i & 9110 handsets I was a fan of the large capacity contracts/address book. I've never found another handset to match it.
