yes. You can have mine for £12.50 and you arrange courier?

Ugh, just noticed this but user suspended lol. Anyone else? If you're not certain then count how many screw hole covers are on the bottom and I'll tell you if it's an original.

How many screw covers are there at the bottom?
#5
why would you want this im curious?
#6
The number of covers is one way to determine revision, and I want the earliest one, that's why.

I have one if you're interested. It has 8 screws at the bottom (6 on the base and 2 more just at the side). The model number is SCPH-39003 if it helps.

I have one of the very first PAL PS2s released in Europe. I actually was good friends with a Sony rep who got me mine nearly 4 weeks before it was officially released in the UK along with a couple of promos. Still works today, quality machine. I was the envy of everyone at college at the time and people were offering me over 3 times what I paid for it because they didn't want to wait for the official release. Don't think I'd want to sell it though, nostalgia and all that with it being one of the very first batches.

I already have one like that. The number of screws there tells me that it's a later PS2, and the model number narrows it down to circa 2002-2003, not the launch period. Thanks though.

Nice story. I would have probably been interested in that one.

That is a PS2 from the later batch. Like I said, I already have one of these. Thanks for the offer though.

yea looking into it think this one is a version 7 or maybe 8
who would have thought they released 18 different ones!!!!
#12
So it's an SCPH-39003 right? That's the product code of a v7/8 console.

The one I'm after is version 3 (that was the earliest in Europe to my knowledge), and says SCPH-30003 or SCPH-30004 on it. Of course if anyone has an import console earlier than that I'd be happy to take it too. :p

Yeah sorry bud, I know these go for a bit more obviously among collectors. Mine is an SCPH-30003 the first PAL model, it has 10 screws at the bottom. They're quite rare mate so eBay maybe your best chance. Just out of interest, why do you want the first models, is it private collection?

Hi, I've got a boxed PS2 in nice condition and the number on the back is: SCPH-30003R PAL

It has 8 screws on the bottom. Any good?
#15
Yes, I'm collecting the different types of PS2. They are yes not as common as the later ones (as would be expected), but aren't very rare at all since when sellers put up pics I see them quite often, but haven't seen any recently. Seen them in Cash Converters quite often too but wouldn't buy from there as the condition is quite atrocious and they often have cracks in the casing, broken fans and other such issues.

Thanks for the offer but that one is a later revision; the R indicates that it's a "revised" model, but still fairly early however, as in like 2001-2002.

You tried CEX, the one near me always has loads of the original PS2s obviously not sure what batch they are but no harm in asking them to check for you mate.
#18
Yes I probably will, but I just wanted to know if anybody here had one that they could sell.
#19
I got one in great condition with network adapter, 750GB IDE HDD, and 2 controllers for £30 today, so I'm happy now.

are you collecting all 18 versions? oO
