Wanted: P4 3ghz or Pentium D with motherboard and 1gb RAM bundle needed - will consider AMD x2 5000 too

I need to upgrade my dads computer as I gave him my Flip HD as a present, but his old Athlon isn't up to the task of running the software for it, as it requires a P4 3ghz or more.

Looking for a motherboard/processor/ram bundle please, as cheap as.

Have 2 Athlon motherboards with processors (unsure of specs at the mo) for trade if necessary) along with various other computer bits (CD Drives, CD writers etc)

WHYG?

Will also consider AMD x2 5000 package too - mobo/ram/processor/fan etc

have you got any ram for it? If not, what sort of ram does it take?
All working, and will fan/cooler?

If so, how much you looking at, or interested in a trade with computer items?

I have a Pentium D 3.0ghz, which dual core so better than a pentium 4 and it sucks for video encoding, even standard definition nevermind high definition. I'd save the money and get something better.

No manual with the board, but I will find it for you online and all that.
Processor no not been overclocked.
Video encoding by converting stuff etc?

The only thing I seem to be missing is the backplate/IO plate, that isnt a huge problem, as you can modify your own to suit.
It would do that..

Let me know, It may be a few days before I can get you a picture, and im not at home this weekend, until sunday.

Video encoding is for the Flip HD video camera thing, and converting the clips and burning to DVD.

Any idea of the model number of the mobo?
Do these fit into standard tower cases?

Hi,what video does flip record in,and what spec is your dads computer,I have converted many video formats with much less than 3.0ghz machines, maybe a bit slower but you can do it.
GO look for winavi software just for starters, there are loads more software that I think can do the job.
OR WinX HD Video Converter v4.1
HOPE THIS HELPS.

Its something like an Athlon 2600 I think, but its running at half speed at the moment due to the mobo not booting when its at full speed for some reason.
Its got 1gb ram.

The minimum specs on the Flip box are 3ghz, and TBH I thought that it might work ok, but apparently not :( USing the Flip software to convert and burn to dvd produces a really jerky video with sound sometimes and not others - very strange tbh

Your Dads machine sholud convert Flip hd video.Go into the BIOS AND CHECK THE SETTINGS ,WHY its running at halh speed, dont adjust anything you are not sure of.
check the cpu multiplier first, god tip is to just change one thing at a time and if not fixing it set it back how it was.

Tbh, I think my price is more than fair.
You've got others here offering you a cpu and mobo for £40 +pnp.
This cpu and motherboard, will last longer and is more up to date, and i am including a stick of ram.
