That's really kind of you, but I'm in Cambridgeshire so I think it would cost me more in petrol than it would to buy the bits needed.

Not wanting to hijack OPs thread, but If you should happen to have any useful parts for sale I'd be interested.

I recieved "HappySteveo's" psp today he asked me to install CFW. I have only charged him for the return P&P about £6 for special delivery. Im happy to do the same for anybody else if they wish. PM if you would like me to do this for you.

Are these pandoras batteries hard to make? I found a spare PSP battery today and am thinking of converting it!

If you send me your battery i will soft mod into a pandora or anybody you know can do it with a PSP with CFW already installed, some are easier to hard mod then others cant tell til you have opened it up.
#13
Hi, I have a fat psp with lumines and GTA Liberty Stories - believe one of these is handy for modding but cant remember which - whats best way to mod this, am willing to post it or battery if someone can assist if not a quick simple thing to do i.e. sonething I could do myself? Am based Scotland...
#14
GTA was used for downgrading the lower firmwares if your is 3.71 or higher you need pandora. Like i said hard modding can be tricky but softmodding will take second if you have access to a PSP with CFW installed already. I can do it for you if you are willing to send it to me

#18
Sorry for stealing your thread - there was someone who was going to do a rent and passon scheme but think mods rejected it - will pm him cos he had the pandoras battery and will revert back...!

Simon_G: Will do you a battery and memory card all sorted and delivered (via Recorded) for 330 if that's any good to you?And to the person who was in Cambridge, I am located in Ipswich, so if you can get there then I can do it while you wait or send it to either myself of elmore etc who can do it for free.

Mike,

Sounds good, out of interest what battery would it be (a genuine or third party one?) and what size would the memory card be? (Again, Sony / Sandisk / Other?)

Cheers

Replacement genuine sony batteries do not contain the chip that you can reprogram.

Only one battery per psp is made for the service mode on purpose by sony, so even genuine replacements cannot be used, it must be one that originally came with the psp, or a datel equivelant.

That is not strictly true, the original sony 1800Mah replacements were compatible with the reprogramming but once the exploit was discovered they soon patched it up so that they were unable to be written to, as it is now, the new slim PSP's are unable to write to ANY battery due to Sony changing the way the hardware works on that side of things.
Most of the time if the battery says "made in Japan" it is possible to convert, if it is one of the Chinese versions then it is not, don't ask why, that's just what I have seen.

My firmware is 3.6 and I thought I needed a Pandora battery, but reading your post I'm getting the idea there's another way. Have I missed something?
#33
I find all this very confusing, which is a sure sign that I'm getting old... I've read wiki and I'm even more confused! - Is there an idiots guide anywhere?

I have one available for £15 minus magic memory stick.

Nope, sorry....If you have firmware above 3.50 (someone misled you by saying something else) then you will need the battery/ memory stick combo, if you have a PSP Slim you will also have NO other way than by using the battery method.
Hope that clears it all up,

Simon_G: You tell 'em :)
