Wanted: PC Components

I am building a PC and therefore looking to buy the following components:

- Motherboard: needs to support 8GB RAM.
- CPU: AMD only, but ideally not Sempron (must have fan).
- RAM: optional as I'm going to use what I have (needs to match the m/board)
- Case: (Prefer the cool looking ones) but dont want something with only two drive bays, ideally four would be suitable.

I am on a very tight budget so not looking for anything expensive.

The PC will be used for web browsing mainly and MS Outlook (may also install Linux on there as well. Please bear this in mind when offering items.

*** UPDATE ***

I am now just looking for a motherboard with cpu and fan.
I would also be interested in a funky case (with psu)

£55 on Ebuyer will get me a mobo and retail cpu+fan (delivered).
A further £25 would get me the case as well.

OK thanks.

Ideally I wanna buy the RAM after the motherboard (just in case I buy DDR3 and the mobo only supports DDR2).

***UPDATE***

Been offered a swap:
My netbook and android samsung phone for an AMD base unit (4GB DDR2 RAM, no HDD or DVD drive).

Just mulling this one over so may close post.

This bundle is also very tempting for £97:

Thanks, but I am gonna leave the RAM till I get the CPU and mobo.

Seems interesting but as I'm on a tight budget I would only want the base unit without HDD, DVD, GFX.

The netbook as an ASUS EEE PC (White, 7" screen, 900MHz Celeron, 1GB RAM, 4GB SSD).
Phone is a Red/Black Samsung Galaxy Portal i5700 with 2GB Micro SD Card.

IF you can PM me your no. I can call you to discuss a possible deal.

I think I will just reduce it and sell the lot locally in the shop window. Good luck finding what you need.

OK, but how much would you want for just the base unit and monitor?
I can collect cos i'm in Bradford all the time (my friend also owns a shop on Harehills road in Leeds so he could always collect it for me).
#11
I would take £180 for the lot if collected. I only got the monitor/extra 2gb memory and gfx card prob less than a year ago which cost me near what I am asking.

Too much for me. :(

Besides, I can get a brand new 22" monitor (with 3yr warranty) for £95 and another £80 will get me the rest of what I need (new) to build a complete system (i.e. base unit minus HDD, DVD, GFX).

Stick it on ebay... they are going for about £100 to £200 on there (but most have some very good upgrades).
#13
Well waht would you offer for the lot collected?

After contemplating I have decided not to pursue a purchase as I would prefer to build a custom PC. At least that way I can:

1) Spread out the cost of purchasing (rather than shelling out £100 - £200 for a full [used] system).
2) Upgrade the RAM, HDD and GFX, etc slowly (when I can afford it).
3) Avoid the hassle of having to sell the extra components that I don't need.
#15
No worries
#16
If your not sure how much to sell it for I would suggest you put the lot back on hukd for £150 and offer free local delivery.

Those Inspiron 531 systems appear to be around 3 yrs old on ebay so £150 would be a fair price. :)

Anyone got just a mobo and cpu?

Needs to support 8GB DDR2 RAM.

Bump 1

(can I bump this type of thread?)

A maximum of 3 bumps per thread.
Do not bump your threads excessively. It’s not fair on other users. Three bumps per thread are allowed in order to promote your listing. For this reasons, no vague threads are permitted and the item offered/wanted must be specific. Any unnecessary comments or consecutive postings within your thread will be classed as a bump or thread spoil.

By my reckoning shuwaz this is your third and final bump

have got a
q6600 would like £65 +p+p
4gb of ocz reaper ram (4x1gb) pc6400 £40 +p+p
asus p5n-d mother board £40 +p+p
nexus cpu fan (not sure what model and would have to sell with mb as the securing plate for the fan is on the back of the mb stuck on with sticky pads so dont want to remove and cause any damage to board)

the only problem with this lot is on the pciex16 2 slot on the mb the clip that releases the graphics card has snapped off so no problem if you only running 1 card as you would only use slot 1 but i never had any problems when i had it in sli mode either.
never been over clocked and selling due to upgrading to new i7 set up

I have a Foxconn P35A motherboard that's going spare. It supports socket 775 upto core 2 quad. it has dual PCIe slots which support crossfire. never had any problems with it myself. you can have it for £30 delivered. it supports DDR2 ram. I have some of that too if needed.

anyways..

sorry just read you are after AMD only..doh.

I'm looking for a mobo+cpu+fan all together (have DDR2 RAM) but I can only offer £80 delivered. Therefore with regret I'll pass on this one... but big thanks all the same.

Due to me not being able to memorise all the rules for using this site I have to be careful not to make any comments that may be deemed as unnecessary or consecutive posting.

I need a mobo+cpu+fan. I dont want to get a mobo only of someone, in case it doesnt work. By the time I got the appropriate cpu+fan and installed it, it would be too late to ask for a refund.

I would happily go with an intel setup (i.e. mobo+cpu+fan) but i know that realistically I have more chance of getting a decent, used AMD setup for £80 delivered than an Intel one.

By the looks of things I'm going to have to leave this thread and buy that crappy ebuyer setup for £55. Oh well, at least its brand new and guaranteed.

Mods, please feel free to close this thread.8)

If anyone has anything to offer afterwards they can always PM me with a link to their thread.

Am I correct in assuming that if I still want the aforementioned items that I will have to wait seven days before re-posting? oO

I have a cpu+fan I can do for £80 including the mb stated before.

it's a core 2 duo E6750 2.67 ghz

if not good luck with your search.

Thanks but the problem besides the price being too high is that I simply cannot justify paying that amount of money for something used (when the same amount would get me something brand new and guaranteed). Yes its not as powerful, etc but my needs do not require that. As long as I can avoid Sempron I'm happy.

I'm going to stick with the ebuyer option. The current setup I choose was a Sempron cpu but i can get a dual-core one for an extra £18. That would take the total to £73 delivered. As its new I would prefer to go with that.

You can see my obstacle with buying a used Intel setup. The price you said is fair but I simply cant afford* it right now.

* meaning not having a guarantee (or returns option), risk of not being what I envisage/wanted, not working upon arrival, breaking down sooner (due to age) and cost for something that is not new.
