Don't know whether Currys in-store offer is different to on-line but PC World is definitely the same. HTH.

Usually just a driving license or passport etc plus a bank card. Some places ask for a utility bill as well.

Went into Currys today and picked up the Acer 6920g laptop someone posted a week or so ago - for a high street laptop its pretty good for the price.

Anyway, nothing instore about finance so I asked one of the staff, he said they were doing Buy Now Pay Later in six months on pieces over £249. You need proof of address (drivers licence, bill etc), proof of bank account (debit card or statement) and proof of ID (passport, drivers licence, credit card).

Went over to the till to sort it out and it had the six month option AND it showed a 12 month option. The 12 month option only differs in that if you pay early you are charged an extra £25 admin fee BUT if you can control your own finances, and buying outright is not an option, like for me right now, you aren't goiing to get a better credit deal over 12 months than that. There was the option to pay a deposit, which I did as I want to know I've paid some to start with - but you didnt have to so okay for those strapped for cash right now - the whole application took about 1 minute and you get an instant decision online.

You have to give your usual details, plus employer details, plus wage details and what other credit/debit/storce cards you hold (not the balances though) nor any details of loans etc you might have.

All in all well happy, I know some are going to post better prices etc but with PCs you can always get better prices if you wait, I'm happy with this one!

Buy Now Pay Next Year - Over £249
Pay it off at the end of the year + £25 admin fee OR keep it going for three years (4 years in total) at 29.5% interest.

6 Months Interest Free - Over £149
Monthly payments from the beggining then the option to pay off the outstanding balance after the end of the 5th month OR keep it going for another 3+1/2 years at 29.5% interest.

9 Months Interest Free - Over £349 (I think)
Same as above but 9 months
