Wanted: PCI-E Graphics Card £25.00

Hi, very simple.

I want a PCI-E graphics card! At the moment, I'm running off my onboard.

I have a 650w modular PSU so that should be ok. It's a pretty big ATX case too.

I want something decent to run some games. Ideally would like to run Prince of Persia 2008. My PC spec is alright, just the card not up to it.

And I don't want to spend too much either. Around the £25 mark though can go a bit higher, and definitely a bit lower for the right card.

Looking for advice from HUKDers too to decide which one to buy!

Thanks.

I think I wanted something a bit more than 256mb though will keep this one in mind and see what else comes up.
#3
Bump one. I am willing to spend a bit more on a good card.
#4
I have a HD4850 I may be tempted to sell but would be looking for more like £80 for it.

Too much?
#5
Yeah, £80 is a bit too much.
#6
In that case mate your best bet would be to look around for a 8800GT.

Seen the 512MB version going for about the £50 mark on here. Sold mine for about that 6 months or so ago.

Probably the best bang for buck you going to get.
#7
Or the 4670 if you are not planning to play in very high resolutions (up to 1680X1050 should be fine with both cards but you will need extra juice with the 8800)
#8
Any links or anyone selling any of those?

ive got a x1800xt, you could have for £40, or a 8800GTS you could have for £60.
#10
Could I see pics of those please and any recommendations from anyone on these?
#11
thesis73, what do you mean I'll need extra juice with the 8800?

uses the 6 pin power lead, as opposed to just taking it's power from the PCIE slot, should be fine if you have a decent PSU

interested?

I think I may be but I know almost nothing about these cards, haven't seen a picture of yours yet, and the prices are both too high for me.
banned#17
well there not exactly low end cards, for £25 your not going to get a top notch card.
#18
Yeah, I can go above my budget but I know nothing about these cards to justify going that high above my budget. And online there are like 1000 cards so can't figure out any comparison stuff!

It is there, not necessarily the exact same model.
But they are all very similar.
The OC version will run better.
Interested?

Which one is similar to yours n0isia as it is less than 512mb. Yes, I am interested lol.

Ruthless, would be interested at a much lower price but am afraid I can't go anywhere near that much.
#29
Thanks Bellamy.

This 8800 does interest me but a bit too expensive.
#30
Cant go lower mate paid £125 a few months ago. Good luck anyway.
#31
That's ok mate. So far two cards on HUKD interesting me, one is this 8800 and one is:

Hope I get one of them but both are SLIGHTLY above budget.

Any of them are very similar, obviously the normal 8800GTS 512mb will be slightly more powerful than my OC 320mb 8800GTS, but only narrowly, being the OC version it can run at higher settings.

Also my x1800xt 512mb PCI-E is also a cracking card.
#37
I am interested in the 8800 n0isia, how much do you want for it?
#38
n0isia, am also still waiting for a pic of your particular 8800, not a stock one. Thanks.
