I think splitter cable is so you can use 2 DVI inputs via the one DVI input on the board :)

I have just bought the X300 for £1.50 (ebay gave me a tenner off voucher)

VGa fans are replaceable usually, check out the likes of ebuyer etc, tbh tho this card aint worth it, whilst a newish model, it's the very bottom of the range, the x600 would probably kick its ass in most apps

7300 is not that far from the x300 in terms of performance, certainly not worth that money, if u had said u were willing to go that high i have a brand new gigabyte x700pro u can have, was kept as a spare for testing but only used once

ok heres the score, iv got a pentium 3ghz skt 775 pocessor with 1gb pc3200 mem, sata hd an all. its running off a **** grpx card (7100gs 128mb, only using this as mb has no onboard video). i dont play games on it (u can guess why lol) but it struggles to play 720p files, i wana know if your card (x700pro) would improve things? is it miles better than the 7100gs?
#15
tbh probably not, if u had said this at start would have been simpler, the system u have is appears good enough for 720p playback but u aren't clear on the cpu there is a big difference between
a pentium 3 ghz and a
pentium 4 3Ghz or even a p4 celeron 3ghz
The truth is its probably a software issue u are having, try k-lite codec pack or cccp ,
#16
in my lounge i have a nvidia mainboard with 6100 integrated graphics playing back 1080p so ur graphics setup is 2 rungs up the ladder from that
#17
its a pentium 4 3Ghz with hyper threading (if that helps)

plenty enough for 720p what player are u using
#19
ok d/loaded k-lite pack & its improved alot but still not as slick as normal divx's. using either media plaer classic or vlc.
#20
off what medium?, hdd, optical?
a, try emptying ur temp folder (c:\docsnsettings\localsettings\temp) if u cant see it turn off hide system/hidden files in folder options) ctrl+a, then Shift+del)

b,disabling your swap file (system properties, advanced, performance, advanced, virtual memory, click on c:, disable button
boot into safe mode (f8 at start) and defrag
Reboot and try again
#21
ok ur getting too technical lol

whats the lowest u'll go (inc p&p) for your graphics card (gigabyte x700pro)?

LMAO i just told you it wont help much and you still want to barter,
have to wonder, if u find doing a proper defrag too technical are you to be trusted fitting a video card? not budging on the price as i can still use it, damm good card for gaming
so £20.00 +PP or do a bit of learning?
seems like a good rate of pay for a student
#23
well i was originally looking 4 any **** card for another pc (mobo has no video) but then thought might aswell put my **** card in that and get myself half a decent one. might try a game or 2 aswell. so u reckon yours is a lot better than the 1 i was gona pay 20quid for?

****cant even say c.r.a.p lol

why would you want a pci express soundcard over standard pci which has all the bandwidth and speed u need for music?

Because I didnt properly research the PC I bought and it turns out that it doesnt have any PCI slots on here. This is very frustrating as I was hoping to transfer my m-audio pci soundcard to this now I have to try to find a cheapish pci express card or get a usb plug in soundcard. Neither option is ideal.

at £70 plus it might be better changing the mainboard, just an idea
