Wanted Pentium 4 motherboard

Cant pay much, hopefully DDR2 compatable though.

Can swap for a Cuba 7301 mobo which is for dual core intels

Your Cuba 7301 should be compatible with a pentium 4. Nearly all dual core motherboards are 'back wards compatible' as to speak meaning they will take oldering processor's like Pentiums, Celerons etc.

Thats what I thought but the chip wont slot in right! it seems too small and the metal case that goes over it wont cover it.

According to this you should be ok, but by the sounds of the information the motherboard and processor have different sockets eg the Processor is socket 478 and the motherboard is 775. Have you looked around the internet, you can pick up rather reasonably cheap motherboards.
