I just had to buy a new adapter for a laptop. If you don't have any luck on here (like me) then try what I did.

Look at the model number on it and put that in to ebay. There are some very cheap ones that are shipped from China and take a week or so to arrive, but a lot cheaper than the rest (saved me about a tenner).

are they the same dell adaptors that work in the inspiron 630m? if so, i have a spare. I have only occasionally used it for my vostro 1500 but it tells me it's a 60w and my vostro requires a 90w to work - I bought it as an extra for the 630m to use in the office but sold the 630m 2 months later - that was three months ago. Let me know if you think it's compatible and I'll check the details on it. I think I paid about £30 for it new but would sell it a lot cheaper than that.

EDIT: think i must be remembering the wattage wrong after reading your post mre carefully. Will check that.

I'm not sure about the Dell's (mine was for a Toshiba), but I can't see it won't work. The one I bought has exactly the same specifications and is still made by Liteon, the only difference was that it had a different plug on it (they shipped a small adapter with it), I didn't need to use that though as I still had one from my old one.

If you look on your original one it will probably say 'made in China', so I assume the ones on ebay aren't fake, rather they're just being shipped from source. To answer your first question, I think they are the same as being sent from Hong Kong, although I'm not sure.

I can't think of a reason why they won't work, the only different is the plug connection, but if you still have your old adapter you can simply use that plug instead (or the adapter with the new one if they ship it).

back - and my details are this:
PA-12 Family Model No. PA 1650-05D2
15.5 A
19.5 Volts
65 Watts

EDIT: It worked with my Inspiron 630m, it works with the Vostro but told me first time I used that the 90W is prefrred for optimal charging time - might be because I also run a 256MB graphics card on that Vostro (so it works, just charges slower). It also works with the New XPS M1330 without giving the message about 90W (no gfx card on that XPS though). let me know if interested

please recheck ,there seems to be a disconnect in your specification ,my required is 150Watts and 7.7A .Where as you are quotting is 65Watts with 15.5A.
Please recheck it, if output is 19.5V DC and 15.5A , I am willing to buy. Please quote me the price

Got this off a website showing different Dell power leads http://www.laptopbits.co.uk/Database_files/Dell_Laptop_AC_Adaptors.htm
Mine is the one below, which is different to yours (also shown on that site). Don't know whether compatible, but it seems not from what I can see. Very little time to research whether it will actually work (sometimes Dell name these things differently but they are in fact similar). Anyway, we should probably leave this unless you can find out independently that you actually want this one. Cheers

Dell AC Adapter PA10
Dell Inspiron, Latitude and Vostro PA10 AC Adaptor. Mains AC power supply fits a wide range of Dell laptops.
Suitable for all machines which were originally shipped with either a Dell PA10 or PA12 adapter (this will usually be marked on the bottom of the machine). 90W capacity 19.5V 4.62A and also replaces earlier 65W adapters.
