I'll be surprised if I get any replies here, but thought I'd ask anyway.
I own a Western Digital 500GB MyBook "Essential Edition" external hard drive.
About a year ago I lost the power supply. Didn't bother me at the time as I hadn't used it for a while and there was no important data on it.
I want to use it again now though and have been looking into getting a new power supply.
Maplins sell HD power supplies but you need to tell them exactly what voltage/connection etc. you need.
Since this info would have been printed on the power supply (that I've lost) I have no idea.
I believe these were/are fairly popular drives though, so on the off-chance that someone has one that's broken down, fancy selling me your power supply ?
Failing that, if anyone can direct me to somewhere I can buy one that will DEFINATELY work with my drive (I stress the word "definately" as I believe that using the wrong power supply on a drive can cause it to go "boom") then that would be helpful.
Obviously, if someone can give me the exact power specs I need to quote to Maplins, that would also be very useful, though they're bloody expensive for most things (I imagine they'd charge me about £20 for a power supply for a drive that cost me £50) so I'd rather that be a last resort.
Thanks in advance for any help. Won't be holding my breath though :o)
