:) Yup... my "Stormtrooper" controller takes pride of place for "serious" gaming sessions.

'Marky264' has one as well.

But I'm now looking for a Silver DUALSHOCK(r)3 as well :)

---

Play-Asia.com sell the Ceramic White ones for just over £47.00.

You may be lucky getting one imported to Europe.

You can get them from dealextreme for $56.90 (approx. £39.95) but there's a chance you'll get stung by customs because it's over £18.

I'm tempted to take a chance myself - love the white controllers!

I really need to find a definitive ruling on the customs import limit.

Some people quote £17.50, £18... £80, or even £100.

Does anybody have a confirmed (documented) ruling on what value of goods attracts import tax?

Thanks.

BFN,

fp.

(PS. I bought my "Stormtrooper" controller from an eBay seller in December 2007. I also think CD-WOW were selling them at the same time, but they don't seem to have stock now).

Hi FP, it says halfway down the Customs page:

"If you buy goods online from a country outside the European Union, for instance the USA, Canada, China, Australia - You will be charged: Import VAT if the value of the goods is €22 (£18) and over"

http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageVAT_ShowContent&id=HMCE_CL_001454&propertyType=document

Hope that helps.

For customs tax it is £105. However, the VAT limit is still at £18

I wouldn't trust dealextreme, everything on their site seems to be fake.

Thank you :)

I've never ordered from DealExtreme because their site has so many spelling errors... I mean... how hard can it be to copy off the boxes? Oh yeah... you're probably correct. Fake stuff is usually poorly labelled too.

PS. White DUALSHOCK(r)3 for £37.99 at Gadget-Asia.com.

BFN,.

PPS. "Rep" for you both already provided.

A white SIXAXIS controller was supplied with the Ceramic White PS3 console bundle that HotUKDeals member "h_360" owns.

I don't know if you can buy them outright though... I guess you can, otherwise you would never have a matching set. Not seen them for sale though.

Either way, this will be an item you will need to source from overseas (Japan/Asia &/or the US), so expect to pay a premium.

When I saw this thread, CD-WOW is the first site I went to (granted, I didn't spend long looking) but I couldn't find the controllers listed.

Could you offer a direct link to the product page, please?

Thanks.

When i got my NTSC 360 imported they told me it was £18 and £36 for a gift fanpages. They stung me hard coz they thought my friend said it was worth $1400 not $140. Lol. Customs are theiving dumbs*its.

I got some of my money back mind you :)

Ouch!

Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (née Customs & Excise) [and, now by association, H.M Inland Revenue] still have the legal right to enter your humble abode & remove property to recoup costs & the fees of importing goods.

Good job they didn't exercise their rights in your case.

Glad you got some[?] of the fees back, though.

Always a good plan to have new items opened & the battery charged enough so that should Customs check the package they can see that it is in a "used" condition.

A friend in Japan kindly organised to have a new PSP sent to me from Japan a few years ago, but he did the same (as I mentioned above) with the battery & this came through customs unchallenged. The item was worth just over £90 at the time.
