Managed to spill water over my fat PSP and it looks like its dead and not coming back :(

After either another fat or slim but MUST either be downgradable or already have a custom firmware installed (I don't care which one).

Don't want any games or anything else but if it comes with a charger and battery then thats fine.

Anyone have one they are willing to sell?

Tried taking it apart and drying it out?

It may even be worth contacting sony, who may fix it for you FOC. I'm sure I saw a link somewhere that stated that sony sent you a replacement one if you sent them a broken one. I know it sounds too good to be true, but obviously sony consider this as a worthwhile thing, as they expect that they will recover their money on all the games you could potentially buy.

Found it, see this below :

Sony do replace, mine was broken by water damage and i was told when selling it faulty on Ebay from some other member not to declare water damage etc as they ask you questions on phone about the PSP does it power up? Does it charge etc etc? Then they said they would send a courier on x day and to hand over old one and new one would be handed over by the driver. They were true to their word!

how long ago did you do this? I have tried this last week, and now they take it for inspection first. To check you are not telling any porkys about the problem with the Psp and if it is still within guarantee.

If not they just send it back

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies. Just to let you know I removed the battery and opened the UMD door and left it for 2 days.

Well it now powers up and seems to work okay but the wireless is a bit dodgy now (sometimes it works other times it doesn't). The power light stays orange even when its in sleep or off and it sometimes crashes when quiting out of a game.

I can't send it back to Sony (its nearly 2 yrs old) and the case has been opened so the sticker has been removed.

I'm going to see how to goes for a few weeks before buying another one just to see how it goes.
