get an M3, its exactly the same...
#3
looked at dealextreme and theyre out of stock. do you know any other reliable websites
#4
You won't get one for that kind of price at the moment. There's a worldwide shortage (same as for the M3) and you'll probably be lucky to find one for much under £30 delivered.

If you go to DealExtreme, you can get the EZFlash V card which does exactly the same job (reputedly better compatibility, in fact) for £15 delivered. Two week delivery time, mind.
#5
k thanks for that but will be waiting till m3 or r4 come backinto stock
#6
I've been told by DealExtreme that they don't expect the M3/R4 cards in stock again until late August/early September at the very earliest.

Like I said, the EZFlash card is supposed to be more compatible and easier to use than the M3 or R4. Why bother waiting months for an inferior, more expensive product?

M3 £28... will be in your hand next day and free tech support.
#8
have got a brand new r4 card and a 1 gig kingston micro sd here will do them both for £38 inc [email protected]
#9
Hi flexo,

You can get these for £19.99 here - http://www.clickshop.com/productinfo.php?pid=618
They were out of stock for ages, but I've just received the ones I ordered a coupke of weeks ago, so pressume they now have them available. Might be worth emailing them to check.
#11
is this the best mod for ds atm? as everyone is looking for it for the past few days
#12

Hadn't seen that thread before, Gary. Well spotted.

From my experience, they kept me waiting nearly 3 weeks for the R4s even though the website says 3-4 days. I emailed them to ask why the delay and they replied there were waiting for stock to arrive. They also refunded my postage costs as a gesture of good will.

Judging by the "world wide shortage" people keep talking about, I thought this was pretty fair - IMHO

I've got two EZFlash IV cards (for my kids), but I was considering trading-up to EZFlash V.

Does anybody think I should go for the M3 or R4 kits instead?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

[And, of course, if I buy from DealExtreme, I'll then have two EZFlash IV cards for sale! :)]

PS. I bought the EZFlash IV stuff from "that auction site". But you have to be quick... as soon as somebody lists one, eBay removes it.

What's your experience been like with the EZFlash IV cards?

M3 and R4 cards are notorious for only accepting Japanese Kingston MicroSD cards a lot of the time (particularly with 2GB cards).

My experience with the EZFlash cards is that they accept anything and have a higher compatibility rate with DS ROMs than either the M3 or R4.
suspended#15
I ordered an R4 card but they sent a m3 as its "exactly the same" its not, you get nothing on the card and no disc, its unusable till you go on-line. You have to register then download the install files. Id wait for the R4 as its better.
#16
you get a mini cd in the package!

and you would always go online to get the latest version anyway!

And you dont have to register...

so all bull...
#17
These lot have m3's in stock at the moment, I've ordered 2 from them in the past and had no problems. £23.95 then postage £2.45 standard or £6.50 special. I've had no problems with the m3 card or this site.

To be fair in the 1st M3 I orderd I go the mini cd and micro USB reader, the 2nd one ordered about a month later I never got the CD just a note to go to a website that had the new software. (The site did require registering)

Only had one NDS ROM that wouldn't work [although I forget which now, sorry], out of the tens (probably 50+) we've tried, and no trouble with 1Gb, or 2Gb MicroSD cards, that were something other than the manufacturer you mentioned.

You need both a Slot-1 & Slot-2 device for the EZ Flash IV though.

Oh yes, I couldn't get GBA ROMs to work at all... but that may just have been me rather than the kit :)

Sounds like upgrading to EZ Flash V is the way to go then.

I've just flashed one of my m3's to the R4 firmware, was quick and easy and now I can play (haven't tried many titles) download play. When I tried to do this with the M3 the screen just froze. Will probably patch the other M3 to R4 now.

Get a EZ-V with the 3in1 expansion pack.
Does the same as the R4DS, save lists are updated weekly. (http://nds.cmamod.com/ez5/EZ5savelist.htm)
Rumble pack, GBA game and Opera Browser supported.

You can pick up memory cards and readers somewhere else. I own 3 of these sets and a R4DS. EZ-V wins hands down. I run everything as clean dumps, and only require patching for Homebrew. Download Play is overrated.

Yes, the M3 and R4 have compatibility issues with soem ROMs, and the only memory that they consistently accept (particularly over 1GB) is Knigston cards made in Japan. Some units have no problems with other cards, but most seem to be very choosy.

The benefits of the EZFlash V is that it is compatible with all Micro SD cards and almost every ROM out there. You also don't need to patch the ROMs the way you do with M3 and R4 - it does everything for you.

Plus, it's cheaper and more readily available at the moment!
#27
u dont need to patch roms for an r4 or m3? its only supercards
#28
You have to patch the ROMs in order to create savefiles, don't you?

Im sorry but what your saying is bull, you dont know what your talking about!

They accept any microSD now - not an issue in the latest firmware.

The R4/M3 play all of the ROMS that the EZFlash does if not more - any that dont, get patched in the constantly updated firmware!

You DO NOT patch the roms! - It creates the save files in the same folder as the rom!
