Hiya, I'm looking for a Sky+ box as well - what size (gb) is the box you have?
#3
It is a 160 gb and can also sell the dish (no wall bracket as cemented in wall) with a 4 way LNB and the cables attached (3 I think) for £20 but P&P would be high on this I think.

Collection from north london ok.

First offer goes to Jakejakejake

p&p shouldn't be that high, i just got a box for £30 and a quad lnb for £9 from ebay i suggest you but separate also when you install your dish call sky and ask them to pair your card to the box or you may be cut off as i have done and still do not have to pay the £10 sub fees

Hi

Thanks for the offer.

Is it a Pace, Thomson or Amstrad (or other!)
What's DV3? Got a picture?
How old is it?

Thanks

So basically....

Call sky before you start using the box?

And to upgrade from the original sky box, i just plug that cable in and another one coming from the quad LNB (which we have already with multi room?

Thanks!!

Yes you are right but after 12 months I no longer have the box.
#11
I've got one at home (Thomson model). Its 12 months old (just upgraded to HD) and is boxed with remote/cables/manuals etc. Can't remember the HDD size though.

Will have a look when I get home and let you know later, along with some pics.
#12
I may also be interested in one.

If I have Sky in my room and already have my own viewing card can i just simply replace the sky box?

You can, but you would only be able to record the channel you are watching. To get the full functionality, you would need a dual LNB on your dish, with two cables running from it.
#14
Is HD worth upgrading to then?

Hi.

I did it because of the £99 Comet offer before Xmas. Don't think I would pay more than that for the box though. The subs are an additional £10 per month, but I'm hoping that they will be lowered (or dropped:)) later on this year.

You can really tell the difference on the football, and the majority of the movies (some of the C4 HD ones have been poor though). Things like Discovery HD are amazing though

Ok cheers!
It is a bit too much for me really! We already have the £10 multi room charge, and the £149.99 deal on the box (in currys atm.) is a bit too much still! Will wait until its free! (that'll be the day lol!)

How much are you looking for with your sky+ box?
and when you get home can you tell me whether it is a 80 or 160gb?
Cheers Mate!

My other bro has Sky+ in his room and there is Sky+ downstairs so would we need a 3rd cable?

If you've already got two Sky+ boxes and one sky box, there should be 5 cables coming from the dish (they should be attached to an octo LNB). You'll need two cables per Sky + box.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but i too am looking for a sky+ box.

I have sky downstairs, which is Sky+, and a multiroom - just normal sky box. Now, as i under stand it, its just a case of upgrade LNB? on the dish to have a quad output, then need to run another cable to this multiroom room. Ring sky, ask to marry viewing card to sky+ box, and activate sky+ on multiroom (at no charge?)

Is this right? Also how do i find out if the dish is set up for quad. I think it will be as there is two feeds going to downstairs, and one going to the multiroom at present, so not a dual LNB but mean a Quad LNB?

:-)

Pics are below. The box is 80GB and is a Thomson model. I'd be looking at £70 delivered for it.

Hi Paul,

I would be looking to pay a bit less for the box. I can pick one up on ebay for £50 + Delivery.
http://www.parcelking.com/ deliver for £6.49.

Can you beat that price?

Thanks for getting back to me!

Hi,

I had actually based the price on £50 + delivery + PP fees, so can definitely work on the price. Paypal fees would be about £2, so I'm happy to do it for £52 + delivery, if that's okay. I normally use parcel2go, so will get a price worked out for you.

Hi Jake,

Thanks for letting me know.

Also, I think I noticed a mention of DV3 in one of the earlier posts - this should have read DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting). It appears on all Digital Satellite/Freeview boxes.

Thanks again

Paul

Thank you to you both for your offers.

I have decided to go for markvirgo's one. You have a pm.
