I'm not an expert and i think others will be able to help, but I think you'll need another LNIB to be able to record more than 1 channel. We moved our Sky + box upstairs when we got our HD box and I am unable to record as this box is only connected to the one LNIB (I think) so I have a feeling it won't just be as straightforward as unplugging and plugging in.

the has to be 2 signal leads going in to the back of the box in order to record as scotsann said,x

that mean im better off just ringing sky and paying?

If you've only got one lead going into the back on your new Sky + box, you'll only be able to record the channel your watching. You need two going into the back to be able to record two channels
