WANTED: Socket A Processor

I need a fast Socket A processor and they seem to be hard to come by now. I don't want anything slower than the Athlon XP 2800+ really, and it has to have a maximum FSB of 333 MT/s. If you don't know what this means I can find out if you tell me the code printed on the processor (looks something like AXDA3000DKV4D). I'd also prefer the 'Barton' model as it has the 512 L2 cache.

I can pay by BT (HSBC) or Paypal, or any other way if the seller should so wish.

Thanks.

i have an athlon xp 64 3000+ any good?

Could you possibly tell me the part number that's printed on it please? The motherboard it's going in is quite old and won't accept anything more than 333 FSB speed, unfortunately the 400+ ones seem to be more common.

Edit: Aren't those processors socket 754? I didn't think any of the 64 bit ones were socket A.

No problem. :)

Is it just me or is this thread not appearing in the For Sale/Trade list?

You had posted in Deal Requests rather than FS/FT. Now moved.

Ah, thank you. Is there a clicking equivalent of a typo? If there is, I did one.

Got a socket A XP2500 barton if it's any good to you.:)

Too slow sorry. It's for my Dad's computer and he said to get him a 3000+, I'd be pushing it a bit even giving him a 2800+.

Thanks for the offer though.

Wouldnt it be best to buy a cheap motherboard instead? You can pick up a cheap one for about £30.

I'm not sure, not really. He does have an Athlon XP 3000+ in it at the moment, but the FSB is 400 which is incompatible with the motherboard, meaning it's only running at 1ghz. I just want to stick a 333 FSB one in so that it runs properly and flog the one I take out.

if u google it you will find a way of unlocking the multiplier on that chip, think u can "bridge a couple of contacts on the top of the casing to do it saving the need to sell it maybe
