Well a new on/off switch will cost 5 pounds roughly from ebay, i can give you item numbers from the guy i bought mine from. Also even if you get someone to do it for free, theres postage costs either way - so im guessing about 20 minimum

there are even a few repair services on ebay that may be close to you and they charge about 15-20 for this so you could save postage fees if they are situated near to you

im dont care about cost i just want my lil ds living again im goning to get with drawl symptons

lol you managed to break the screen and the button trying to put a new case on? postage shouldn't be too much..max 2 pounds each way?
I would help but I've never even played on a DS, let alone know how to fix it...

Is this an original DS? I may be able to do it for you if you cover the P&P costs and can get hold of the parts/pay me for the parts.

I just realised, I go away to Germany next friday so probably wouldn't get time to do this till after so probably best to see if you can find someone else to do it.

Ahh, i've not done any DS Lites yet although I have a few to do soon. They are meant to be very tricky to do. I definitely wont have time to do that before I go away but hopefully someone else will offer

Am I right in understanding it needs;

- A new case
- A new power switch
- A new bottom screen (not the touch screen bit, just the actual screen)?

Which of these parts do you already have?

Ok i have the case
And the touch screen (but that i have heard is tricky to fix)
Need the power switch

and need it all fitting - I must add one of the screwsis worn and might need TLC (or drilling out)

can you help?

Im awaiting my DS lite case so will be opening mine to do shortly - if you're close to Birmingham then I could do yours if you want?

cant be harder than to dremel and solder 3xchip legs on a Wii!

whereabouts are you?

humm, i *could* do.. have replaced the case on a DS lite before and done a few power switches (which always go tits up by the way and I end up having to use alt solder points for the pins)..

i usually buy broken ds's off people then fix em and give em to friends/relatives.. wouldn't really like to take yours on because if i do mess it up then that wouldn't be good!

fixed 3 lites, two with power switch problems, one just needed a case replacing.

fixed 1 phat - just needed touch screen replacing.

edit: oh yeah and had one more lite which just wouldnt turn on, absolutely nothing would revive that one..

you might be better off buying a new/second hand one and selling yours, my o/h has just replaced my broken case and he found it a pain, harder than the original ds as one of the wires has to go under something else, if he found it hard anyone without experience would find it really hard to do as he used to build motherboards so hes used to fideley things

yea i have found a service on line but they want £45 so might juat do that

If you are going to fork out £30 or more, then you might be better off selling it as is and getting a new one / good cond. 2nd hand. I wuld have thought you could pick up one for circa £70 and sell yours for circa £45...
