WANTED: Someone to fix or help me fix my PSP!!!

Basically my PSP doesn't read any umd discs. Tried all my games and movies and none of them seem to work. The PSP makes a funny noise loading noise, not the normal one, as it tries to load the game and after a couple of minutes it comes with a message saying the disc could not be read. Was working a couple of days ago when i was playing Test Drive on it. Don't know what the problem is, maybe a setting problem or the laser is broken.

Can anyone advise me what to do or even fix it for me? Would be willing to pay postage both ways and also a fee for someone to fix it.

Thanks

why not just get the psp upgraded to custom firmware then you wont need to use the umd

here is a guide of how to take the psp apart

if you send it to me i have three umd drives in stock what about £25 including return postage for the umd drive fitting and custom firmware putting on the psp 3.90 m33:-D

pop in a disk and let it get upto speed then open the drive. if the disk is spinning then you'll probably find that the laser is either dirty or the sled is jammed. i've had a few lately where the sled gets jammed. move it with your finger back and forth a few times and try it. if this fixes the problem then use some lube on the spindle to prevent it re-occurring. you can clean a dirty lens with a cotton bud and some alcohol. failing that you'll need to swap out the unit as mentioned above. Does anyone know if I could still use the PSP repair service, eventhough it is custom firmware?

You have been told the likely problem and a guide to fix it, you have been sent a link on the part you need, you have also had a price and an offer to fix it for you.

What help do you want?
