Hi,

I am looking to get a laptop cheap for a family member and can fix most problems myself.

I am looking to spend no more than £50 but depending on damage will depend on what I can offer.

I would like atleast a 1.6+ ghz processor prefer dual core
Not bothered about missing RAM or HDDs

The only thing I am not interested in is ones with faulty motherboards as motherboards aren't worth replacing.
Shipping/Payment:
PPG

Postage must be inc in final price

Hi bitofageek,

We have a sumsung V25 laptop which is broken and gatering dust. The AC connection bit of the laptop broke off. I have been told that it just needs soldering back on; however hubby and I have no soldering skills lol I have no idea what the specs are but its a few years old now.

Let me know if your interested :)

What sort of condition is it in and what sort of price are you looking for inc postage?

I have a dual core Amilo 1818, 17" screen, 2gb ram, T5 series dual core. Works fine but battery is dead, wireless does not work since I put Win 7 on it, worked on Vista before. 2 keys missing and has hinge cover missing. Has some wear and tear but overall it works fine and the screen is very good, could even say mint.

Other than that works perfect, however I would want £90 posted for it. And I would have to find a box and packaging good enough to protect it.

Hi bitofageek, The laptop is in fair condition for its age. It does however have a small crack on top.

I have taken a couple of pictures:

We would be looking for either £35.00 delivered without the hard drive or £40.00 delivered with the hard drive.

Thanks but its for a young teenager, it would be too expensive for what his parents are looking for by the time it is done.

Can you let me know the make and model of the laptop, then I can let you know how difficult it will be depending on the way the lcd is mounted. But either way it will not be the £150 an IT shop would charge.

I would be more interested but I can't find a hinge cover on ebay, and I can get a brand spanking new laptop for up under £300. Also do you have a coa for 7?

I have got 3 laptops but they have no power leads.
2 are Dell and 1 is a Compaq laptop.
Both Dells have battery power left in them, nothing has been removed eg Drives etc.
Same with the Compaq,,,i bought them from the IT department at the company i work for so i think
all they will have removed are company details etc.
Lmk if you are interested in any or all of them as i`m no good with computers and would not know
how to put Windows back on these.

I am possibly interested in all of them dependant on price and spec if you could let me know the model numbers and prices inc deliverey I will look into spec. Should I assume no hard drive as they were originally for company use. I know many companys are very sensitive about hard drives. Also windows isn't an issue I can solve that problem.
Either way I am interested.

Compaq Evo N600c just over 13 inch screen..Intel Pentium III.
Model No-J07M040.00
Complete but no charger/mains lead.
Pretty tidy condition!

2 x Dell Latitude C640 Just over 13 inch screens...Intel Pentium 4
Seem to be complete but again no charger/mains lead.
Slight scratches on casings, screens on all are fine on all 3 laptops.
Noticed on both of these when powering up a message says "No bootable devices on hard disk"
"Strike F1 to retry boot,F2 for setup utility"

I can try to upload pics if wanted, lmk.

You would have to tell me how to upload pics though, its been ages since i done it..lol.

I'd have trouble trying to shift a pentium 3

Don`t know anything about Pentiums to be honest.

How does £65 delivered for the 2 Dells sound or £85 for all 3 delivered.
Royal Mail prices are ridiculous by the way, would be using Hermes or similar for delivery.

TBH theres not enough money in them to be worth doing and even being able to get my money back on them. We are talking £10 per charger plus possibly hard drives.
#30
Like i say i think they are complete. (Anyway of checking?)
LMK what you think they are worth as these will just probably stay locked away in a cupboard.
These are quite heavy as you are probably aware so postage is not cheap, just trying to get back what i paid for them,if i take a slight loss then so be it.

Open to offers.
#31
I have just realised these don't even have wireless built in and like you say they are heavy so by the time you posted them you are not far off what they are worth if they had chargers it would be much easier to make them sellable.

I could try to get a couple of Dell chargers if thats any good, would that help with a sale for you?
Can ring the IT department to see whether they have a couple spare.
#33
Nope,they have`nt got any...thanks anyways.

Dell c640 chargers on E-Bay for £6.91 each delivered,do you think it would be worth buying 2 of these?
#35
ok hard drives are initially the most important before we go any further. you need to turn them and go into bios usually one of the 'F' keys or delete should say on screen as soon as you turn it on and check through the menus for HDD or Hard drive and also Memory or RAM. And what would be the best you could do on price to be fair to yourself and to not waste time batting backwards and forwards with comments?

I also need to now if it has a disc drive in it that is the one you can see on the side
