Hi Today my son's xbox 360 has started flashing one red light and an error code E79, Ive tried to return it to Currys but it was purchased 14months ago and they won't replace it , they told me to contact Xbox as there is an extended 3yr warranty on them, After speaking to there guy, they only cober the 3 flasing red lights with error E74, And can repare ours for £98, Which i am not going to pay.

I would like to borrow someones reciept if they have one it doesnt mater what store you bought it from but it must be for an XBOX 360 20Gb model with HDMI.

I will return the reciept to you and you will also get a full 12 months warranty back as they give you another with the new console, I will just sell the console straight away as we have had 4 now and they are nothing but trouble.

I am will to pay for reciept for you require

Hope you can help

oh and try this:

--==Console Reset Codes==--
Clear All Installed Game Updates and Console Cache

1. Go to the "system" blade
2. Select "memory"
3. Press Y on the HD symbol
4. Press X,X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X
5. A message will appear saying: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"
6. Select Yes

Clear Any Failed system updates that cause the console to error.

1. With the console off, press and hold the sync up button (the small white one)
2. While holding the sync button press the power button to turn on the console
3. Continue to hold the sync button until the Console has booted up completely.
4. During the boot process the console should clear any failed updates, allowing you to use it normally.

Ive tried all the online advice, and nothing works, it has never been on xbox live, and i cant buy another on as they dont sell the 20gb ones anymore.

And i dont think its illegal, who cares anyway! Crist surley if you pay good money for electrical goods they should last longer the 14 bloody months.

Ive got a playstaion 2 thats 8 years old and hasnt missed a beat

E74 is overheating, if he's had problems 4 times now its most likely due to prolong use, using in a hot room and having it placed in a confined space. You can usually fix it quite easily by taking the xbox apart and removing the heatsink from the gpu, cleaning it and applying new thermal paste. It takes about 10minutes to do max and doesnt cost much money. Theres a decent guide online somewhere on how to do it I'll try find it for you.

Argh sorry! Misread your post =[ clear cache should work as jetpac said

You can't ask for this in the FS/FT forum. If you want to commit a fraud, I'd advise you to keep that plan to yourself.
