When we went to the Dominican last year, I couldnt use the striaghtners, so I spent a fortnight looking like a scarecrow!

We're off to NYC in a couple of weeks and I cant make the same mistake again.
Is anyone selling a voltage convertor so they will work in the US.

Thanks

HAHA - thanks a lot for that, I think they are 240v. Rep added for both, saved me a fiver and saved me looking like a tw*t for a week!

They need to be in the range of 110 - 240 for them to work in NYC... even then there's no guarantee, someone more knowledgeable on the subject can porobably advise better but the wife melted her hairdryer in NYC cause the wattage was wrong (or summat?).

I agree, we went to NY in November & my friends GHD's just wouldn't heat up at all.

Sounds like they might not be genuine GHD's. My GF had no probs with her GHD's in New York last year.

They are genuine, they are the ones for thicker hair so maybe the voltage is different? But def genuine and def had a problem :p

My Genuine GHD's were having none of it in NYC last year! Dont take it for granted they will work - I looked like a scarecrow the whole time! Was well miffed by it!
