Hi,

As far as I'm aware it has to be sold with the hardware it came with, or the PC it was installed on, so I don't think we could allow it.

Best Regards

Ray.

But isn't it the COA that is the OEM part, not the disc?
The disc will be the same whether it was an OEM or Retail.
Its the COA which is the sticking point of OEM stuff, not the actual CD

The sale of the CD should be safe. Perhaps Rayman could have a look again, as I am sure that is the case - I am open to be corrected, but have a feeling about this one :)

JUst read it needs COA, BUT....if this has already been installed, then it is legally linked to that computer and its components, not just any.

Its a very grey area, so it really is down to mods discretion

you can legally sell OAM software with hardware, and some shops even go to selling with a mouse?!? Normally its a harddrive or processor minimum.
#9
Well if thats the case i have an old 4gb hdd if rayman can confirm.
#10
Yes, it is ok if you sell with hardware. (can be anything) I have seen this on evilbay a few times, and if it passes there than that will be the LAW! :p

I don't think you can sell them on second hand even with hardware, only if with the PC it's installed on.

To the best of my knowledge OEM and retail are different.

Retail usually includes repair install function which OEM does not

the licence is assigned the the system its sold with, not he disk as you can use anyones disk and buy a code directly from microsoft, infact microsoft allow you to download a pirate copy as long as you have a legit key, thats the thing, you cant sell a used key.

i know ive used oem loads of times as ive upgraded desktops and never had any problems. as long as it isnt licenced to hp,dell etc and a hologrammed disc i didnt think it would be a problem.
